Nexus don't need to apply. Studios apply to Nexus.

The last Star Wars game on the PC to push my buttons was Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. And that was like... what? 1997? Rogue Squadron on the n64 was good too.
Republic Commando was decent as well, but I don't really consider it star wars as it was all the clone stuff.
Agree on all points. "Shadows of the Empire" for N64 wasn't a revelation but pretty decent too!

Yep, I'll get this!

Maybe Nexus Pericolos0 is able to give further advice, given that he is working on a procedural FPS in Unity and knows both middlewares.

I never judge Game of Thrones purely by how much action, but rather the evolution of the characters. Last night's episode was excellent...and then the end
QuoteThey chopped off the dude's hand which was pretty WTF by itself but right before it some Irish rock song started playing for me. Was that just the author of my legally obtained back-up copy fucking with me or did that happen to everyone else?

You're probably right. Usually cover letters don't go that far, but since we're talking about "how to go beyond the ordinary cover letter": why just focus on the fluff and not back it up from the first second? Re-building a level/area from a Telltale game and adding signs that say "Hi! I'm Neil and I'd love to work at Telltale" (for example) would definitely grab their attention.
But maybe that's a little too much work
Depends on how bad you want the job. BTW. Anybody from Telltale HR reading this?

It shows that you are willing to go the extra step, but it doesn't show off your abilities. Well, some of your models can be seen in the video, but you are not applying for a position as a video designer. Remember that guy who coded an adventure game ABOUT a job interview for an internship at Doublefine? THAT was cool. Don't get me wrong, I think you're doing far more than the average applicant and I'd feel humbled if I worked at Telltale. But the others have a fair point about the demonstration of your skills, which is - by far - the most important.

Put that on the box: "Oculus Rift - because the world just isn't good enough any more"

One step closer!

Is that Sentura between Blaz and Mino?

That looks beautiful! Great job both of you!

Is this the only response GBX has given with regard to 'Colonial Marines'?

Ahh...
Still not sure if my time might not be better spent watching a different show though.Quote from PaulHAlso found it difficult to get back into GOT, but then it's always the case as they have so many characters to remember! Was still a good episode though and good to have it back on. Have been watching all seasons of Southland recently, have made it to Season 5, this show is really good
Thanks, I'll check it out!

That was it for TWD then:
QuoteRegarding GoT: I should have watched the last or even last two episodes of season 2 before watching the 1st episode of season 3. That would have helped to get back into the storyline, but I'm still glad it's back on.

Just watched latest ep of Walking Dead...
One more episode to go. It's like they've been gathering dynamite the whole season and they are getting ready to detonate it!
They are
ing it too much
I'm so tired of thisQuoteback and forth with the Governor, just get it over with already! In comparison to GoT, House of Cards, Boardwalk Empire and Homeland the show is such a joke. Why am I still watching this ffs

Seems like Blizzard wants to gauge f2p with a virtual collectible card game:

Hey Nexus!
Glad to see that you still find the time to do some level design on the side (now that you work at Valve). Great stuff as always! -

I played LoL for about 18 months then got annoyed at all their bullshit patches. I moved to DOTA2 and I much happier on that side of the fence. The learning curve is certainly a lot higher though.
I still play LoL rarely.
The folks at my office play LoL - that's why I picked it over DOTA2. Is DOTA2 still in closed beta by the way? I remember that they were handing out beta keys like candy not too long ago, but I'd still need to ask someone. Any other key diferences between the two games (aside from the developing studio)?
