I didn't call the game pathetic. And I wouldn't.
It's my computer. If I want to clear out my internet caché, that is my business. I don't expect the result of that to be respawn/EA claiming I am cheating, forcing me to reboot Origin, then reboot the game, then have to rechange my GFX settings (because the game doesn't remember them), etc etc etc.
I have contemptuous pity for them. Not the game. Not the players. Them. Perhaps that is a better way of phrasing it?
I have no idea what you are talking about with the game not remembering your GFX settings, because that's been working just fine for me. Oh and f the developers for not ensuring that you can delete your internet cache while the game is running. ? How dare they release a polished (comparing to what other battle royale titles are like when they come out the gate) and free for you to try game without thinking of that!

Nevermind the fact that you might be clogging up your inventory unvoluntarily constantly.
Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just wish you would be a bit more polite about it, Mitch? Calling it "pathetic" and all that. Obviously there are a lot of people enjoying the game. This arrogant attitude makes you look like a bit of a dick TBH.

After playing it for a few hours it seems to me like Blackout infused with elements from Overwatch plus some nice QOL improvements (ping system, drop leader, visual cues on the UI when your teammates fire etc.). Like with any other new battle royale game it takes some time to try out all the different weapons, items and additionally unique abilities in this case. One thing that had me going back to PUBG after Blackout was the tactical realism and slower paced gameplay. I suspect it will be similar here but I need to play it some more. Definitely worth trying if you like Battle Royale (hey it's free).

That's it guys. That's it.

One thing I personally find slightly annoying is that the much smaller map size in comparison to PUBG makes it harder to find a spot to drop at where nobody else is. I guess it is in line with the more fast-paced style of Blackout but sometimes I just want to get some time to loot and not be shot in the back 5 seconds into the round because the dude next to me dropped closer to the weapon spawn.

It might still be a bad game (don't know - haven't read up on it much) but reading the first sentence of that article told me all I needed to no about the quality of this preview.

I definitely enjoy it but man...I still die a lot. Got my first solo win in blackout a couple nights ago, so maybe I'm getting the hang of it. But it is clear to me that having not played a COD title in many years is certainly not doing me any favours. While I can attribute deaths in PUBG to tactical errors most of times, I feel like I often die in Blackout because I lack the twitch shooter skillz? I dunno, maybe I am just getting old...

I remember @seir tweeting that he has begun work on a book. If you get your CSGO map in an operation, Valve is giving you a cut, I think? Not as profitable as the cocaine trade side business that @FMPONE is running, but maybe worth trying...
You could also start making videos or do a podcast about level design. I don't think you'll get rich doing that (be it through ads or a patreon) but at least you can manage your time easier doing that than when signing up for side gigs as a freelance level designer.

The COD gameplay that we are used to is so fast that I am curious how that is going to translate into a game mode where a death essentially means 'start over'.

When this person was talking about light in the layer part of the video, pointing out the alley section, I was thinking "well you don't look at the light source, but what the spotlight is illuminating" but then the actual alley to take is truly dark. Unless there was an effort in pushing players to explore and find collectibles...

Sweden made it so easy for us to advance yet we couldn't score one goal against South Korea. Must be the curse of the World Cup winner. I don't know.

It doesn't seem to always work. For example when that Serbian player got dragged down by two Swiss players and the VAR didn't intervene. In the end it is just a prompt for the referee to review the situation once more. The call is still with the referee on the field. So I don't understand that, but overall I agree it turns out to be beneficial.

Maybe worth taking a small detour on your way from Madrid to Paris and make a stop in Normandy? Visit Mont Saint-Michel, see some WW II bunkers and shit?

Japan just beat Colombia. Why do I even try to predict results any longer...
