Thanks guys, there are some interesting tips. Ye I know there's Tripadvisor, but I find that website incredibly cluttered and I always get stressed and find little info for the effort spent – know what I mean?

I used it for a trip to Budapest last weekend and I found it very handy for restaurant recommendations and ideas for activities. Maybe you can do a cruise on the Rhine and see the fireworks from there? Or by the river? Definitely check out a Brauhaus and drink some Kölsch I took the staircase up the citadel once. If you are feeling sporty, go ahead and try that!

I have yet to play it, but from what I have seen, I think it can be so much better, but has had some overall design choices that make is just not that good. Hearth Stone which to me is the most casual of any game but still has some sense of competitiveness to it, while when I look at HotS I cant fathom on how it could be any more competitive than like Strife or Dawngate, those 2 other F2P Mobas. No offence.

You need to play the game before you judge it. I've been playing it all the time and had some of the most competitive matches in any games I've ever played. It makes a big difference to be playing with friends in the same room though, since it's much easier to coordinate.

If anyone wants to try the game give me a shout and I can see if I can get an invite

I've been playing a fair bit of LoL and do not endure any MOBA fatigue yet, so I'd be happy to test it!

It's probably worth mentioning that the PS3 and 360 version doesn't include the Nemesis system, which is by far the biggest draw of this game IMO.

    umm what? Good to know!

Not going to edit your thread, but I'd be happy to see at least the level design theory-related resources from the old thread to be carried over into this one ("General Level Design Articles & Best Practises"):

Also the 3D section might be a better fit than OT?

I'm really into topography and was looking for a particular map of Prussia from the 1800s. That's how I found #mapcore on IRC on a cold January morning in 1972.

Still looking for that map btw.

If a game is not fun and tedious there is no point spending time with it. I guess the goal of actually playing a game is to have a good time and not to grind levels XD

Might look cool from an artist's and writer's perspective but it's lacking in the game design department doesn't it? Maybe I don't get it either but all this fancy story/world manipulation doesn't tickle my fancy when the gameplay is made up of minigames on virtual arcade machines.

The last pic looks like he's stretching his arm out to let the Griffon land on it. And that's perfectly fine because that's what I'd expect the motherfuckin' Witcher to do: Making the Griffon its bitch. #badass

Never heard of that one (not a big fan of wildlife documentaries). Plus I'm pretty sure that's the Dallas skyline in the background.

McConaughey's career wasn't turned around by true detective. If anything what turned it around that year was Dallas Buyers Club.

Less about how to be creative, more about how to create a sustainable work culture that allows creativity to flourish (and how to protect it). Explained through a portrayal of Pixar's (and to a certain extent: Disney Animation's) history.

The two extra appliances we had to buy (fridge and dishwasher) we chose to go for extra energy saving stuff (A+++) because electricity is expensive in Germany (biggest of our bills so far).

Is this going to be your first winter in the house? What about heating? That's usually a big cost factor - especially in old houses. I heard that a lot of French heat with elictricity powered radiators but in Germany that's rather uncommon. A new heating insulation will increase your renovation costs further but save you money down the line (and make the house more attractive to tenants/buyers if that day will come).

OK guys, here's a big confession (please don't judge): I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life. I know FFVII is considered the biggest accomplishment of mankind since the Moon landing by many gamers but I used to be a Nintendo fanboy and never owned a PSX, so I never played it (or any of the other games in the series). All I know is that these are Japanese RPGS with characters that have funky haircuts and (sometimes) really big swords. I watched the Final Fantasy ("Spirits Within") movie but that didn't resemble anything that I've seen of the FF games. Then again every FF game looks like it has few in common with the previous one and they just keep getting weirder. Please enlighten me!

Grand Designs, Kennington 2012 - or the episode where a 380k Victorian water tower is transformed in something resembling an Apple store after a +2mln £ renovation.

House has been put on market for £6.5mln, but price tag has been slashed of 2mln this year, I found out looking for the stream.

Unfortunately can't find a yt or official stream.

    I want it.
