It is on the list of things to buy by the company so I'll most certainly check it out.

The voting was carried out during the break, therefore before zidane's headbutt.

Wow, paint-overs can really help tune a map!

It's something we do at crytek all the time, art notes by concept artists can really help making your empty level turn into a beauty.

I was rooting for France, a shame that Zidane freaked out like this, way to fuck up the end of your carreer. I think Materazzi pinched Zidane's nipple (I'm serious), but it was obviously something else said that made him headbutt the dude.

Anyway, congrats Italy, it was a nice world cup, thank you for being our guests and see you in South Africa 2010

...or later in a different forum thread.

Cool to see you mapping again Fletch (or should I say - "Brian" ?!!?! )!

Looks cool, but where exactly is the level set? "Kerk" doesn't spark off anything in my head and I am kinda baffled when I look at the screens.

Germany, the host, is out, they did good. Made it into the semi finals and did a pretty good match.

The crying italians, 2 goals in the very last minute of overtime and the stuff that happened before the match related to Torsten Frings leave a bit of a bitter taste, but the German team accomplished more than many expected. In fact more than just reaching the semi finals they also helped to create a new spirit among Germans, I hope this will last even when noone's talking about the cup anymore.

Saturday - match for the 3rd place then.

    Klinsi for president!

I think some of the architecture looks cool and some parts do look very creative, but like schmung said, this map is just totally schizoid.. Nothing really makes any sense (including most of the architecture, some textures) and it all just seems like something I from a distorted dream..I am not saying there's no quality or creativity but I can't say I really like what I see.. Strange..

Yea, I somewhat feel the same. I know most of your CS levels, which are mostly very realistic looking and your UT levels which got a great sci-fi, fantasy look.

Now this map is something in between and I'm not sure if you have made up your mind which style you are going for either. Because the architecture looks far from realistic in most places, yet you use those realistic textures. So in my eyes, you need to choose between one of these two in order to get this level working from a visual point of view

If you think I don't see the whole picture, I will wait and would love to be amazed by a more finalized version

I also agree with Peris, it certainly looks like you've put a lot of work and time into it, kudos for that!

The cathedral looks great, but is it more than just this one room? The roman one got some neat textures, but with some work it could be much more. I like gargantua too, although it lacks decent lighting. The atmosphere of the city or temple in the desert looks quite interesting and original. Not too shabby overall!

France kicked Brazil out of the cup.

I know I am a few hours later but sorry, I had to digest this first and celebrate with some people de la grande nacion. This is amazing. Ladies and gentlemen, the 2006 world cup just got even more interesting!

I bet klein, stepp and frie are singing "DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA!!"

We actually sang that, among other songs

What an intense match, crazy, I was so relieved after the 1:1 but then during the penalty kicks I almost died a heart attack.

Looks like italy is gonna be the one who gets sent home in the semi final!
