Aight then, I'm joining Playdead and will be working on their follow up project to Limbo

I'm really fucking excited about this, we already started talking about this a month ago, and then it just turned out that the timing was, in an awful way, perfect.

Yeah, right now thats the only "exclusive" that could turn me over, and I'd rather spend that money on getting a new PC.

Thanks guys, tomorrow I'll probably be able to say what I've got planned, but I'm good and really excited about what I'm going to do next. I'm mainly concerned for everyone else in this inevitable clusterfuck.

Oh and awesome Rick and Kedhrin, I'll bring this by the relevant people. Right now we don't know who's in or out tho (wont for another couple of days), but I figure most people there are sending their resumes all over the place, so I'll chat some of them up and see if they'll bite.

I'm not quite ready to announce anything yet, but don't worry about me.

I am however extremely sad for all my colleagues and what the hell will happen to them, both the ones that get fired and the ones that stay afterwards.

This has been a looooong time coming tho, not surprising at all to me. Still doesn't make it less sad.

Hah yeah, I think everyone must've waited when they arrived at the surgery room, trying to get around the side of the surgeon with the scalpel and realising that you have to kill him to move on. And yeah, the image of him standing with her in his arms while a gun is being pointed at him again was almost too obvious a reference, but an extremely effective one none the less.

Was also totally surprised when I saw that Nolan North was doing David as well, guess that's what you get when you actually get voice actors to work, rather than just speak in their natural voice

Also played a couple of rounds of the multiplayer, it's actually really good! You definitely need to stick together and not go too lone wolf. Really like all the maps I've tried so far, plus the crafting system works quite well here as well. Had an instance where I was sitting in the middle of a firefight and crafted a molotov, then threw it and got a dude, was pretty awesome

Donno how much longevity it has, but right now it feels pretty fresh even if it's just TDM with a couple of twists.

I figure we need to do spoiler tags here, since people that haven't finished it are still going in here :G

    EDIT: Faak eet!

I loved that the ending actually took such a sad twist, considering the consequences of Joels actions, and actually had you second guessing it up until the very end. You could say that it's a cheap out to be able to do a sequel, but it worked for me. The alternative of having her die but finding a cure would be sad and encouraging as well I suppose, but after everything you've gone through, you get why he'd be this attached, but it obviously feels like the wrong thing to do.

    Oh and giraffes

    Quote from Thrik

So how hard is the game? Is it a good challenge on normal or a total walk in the park? I like stealth games when the consequences of being spotted are serious.

Apart from said difficulty spikes, then I actually found a bit too easy for my likings on Normal. Stealth wise it's fairly forgiving, for example the enemy NPC's don't react to your AI buddies, which can break some of the immersion but it definitely makes for a much more enjoyable experience. Also there's almost always a way to flank around the enemies, throwable junk to use as distractions and plenty of options to getting past enemies or to take them out.

Really impressed with the actual gameplay of this one. I mean I love the Uncharted games, and I'd put Uncharted 2 on my all time top 10, but gameplay wise they've never been that deep. Thrilling yes, but beyond epic set pieces and some pretty decent cover based shooting then it's not a mechanics wise impressive game. I'd say The Last of Us has them flexing their actual gameplay muscle to any doubters.

Going to try it on Hard difficulty now, figure that should be even more intense~

Just finished it. What an absolutely incredible game!

The biggest surprise for me is how great the stealth gameplay is. Hell, I'd even go as far as to say that this is one of my favorite stealth games to date. It's not that it's a super complicated game, but the experiences it generates are intense like very few other games. Also some brilliant level design, and surprisingly large open ended areas from time to time. Plus the firefights are equally intense when they finally break out, with it often dabbling in an area between playing stealthy, where you're trying to flank them and break line of sight, and actually engaging them.

And even though I wasn't initially that impressed with the environment art, then I'd take that back now. It's true that the materials are pretty low res, but there's so much attention to detail and so many story told throughout the environment that it becomes much less important. Also I love the colours of this game, some great art direction here~

Plus the story and characters just bring most other games to shame, there's more heart in 10 minutes of this game than what most other "story based games" aspire to have throughout. So fucking good~

My only gripe is that there were 2 difficulty spikes with infected where I had to retry them like 7-8 times to get, which was pretty annoying at the time. But considering how great everything else is, then it's a very small thing overall.

So yeah, I loved Bioshock Infinite, but this pretty much knocks that away for my GOTY contender.

I've had this happen, basically lost an entire hour because of it, so if it's basically stuck on autosaving, reset your PS3 :G

Anyway, the game is fucking brilliant, loving it so far, both stealth and firefights are intense as hell. I am slightly disappointed with the visuals however, everything generally looks a bit more low res than say Uncharted 3

I'm totally fine with paying for it if they'll be able to match Microsoft in online features and community functions. If their online functionality is just the PS3 over again, then I'll be pretty disappointed, but even then they'll still have the entire free game thing going (even if MS is doing that as well).

Regardless then I'm betting on Sony significantly upping their game when it comes to online this generation, even if it got better with the PS3, then it never felt as solid as the 360's.
