Only played it for about 18-19 hours so far, completely in love with it. It might just be the heat of the moment, but right now it's firmly aimed at being my favorite game of all time. There are single elements here and there that might not be incredible, but the sum of all it's parts just rises above everything else anyone else have ever achieved.
Also really happy that I've been to Los Angeles, because it just adds to the experience and makes the attention to detail even more impressive when you've actually been to the places they've recreated and experienced the city during day and night time.

I get up early Monday mornings and watch the new episodes before work. Otherwise I'll be completely unable to focus on anything work related

Interview with Aaron Garbut, a good read while trying to kill time (and not check vids of people playing it early ;_

I'd seriously go completely insane if I didn't get it on Tuesday.
I'm already feeling a little insane actually

But yeah, a next gen/PC version has got to be looking fucking sweeeet, considering how great this looks on 8 year old hardware~

Fuck, I almost didn't want this to happen but it looks like evidence of PC and PS4 versions has been found in the leaked code. Now I'm going to have to wait.

Also, lmao:
Really? Are you actually going to wait? Definitely going to get it for PS4/PC as well when they finally bring that out, but no chance in hell that I'd wait~~

Aye played it yesterday, really cool. I do wonder about how well it would work for an actual real game tho~

Been switching between this and Outlast, and you'd think that would be an alright comparison, but like dux said then this really is more like Dear Esther with a lamp than feeling like the original Amnesia. I'm about 2 hours in, and it just doesn't come close to the original in terms of building up tension and scaring you. Those phone calls might help in telling the story, but they make everything a lot less tense and honestly boring as a result.
In comparison then Outlast is scary as hell, and has in the same time already generated a handful of memorable and surprisingly emergent moments.
Never actually finished the original Amnesia, and at this point I'm much more interested in going back and finishing that.

Gah, as if I don't want the game bad enough already. I gotta stop watching these.

Only played it for about 40 minutes, so I figure it hasn't really started properly yet. Most reviews have said that it feels a lot less scary than the original, and so far I definitely agree, not that that's necessarily a bad thing if it's a cool experience.

Exactly, as long as it feels like a lot of care was put into it rather than mindless copy/pasting, then all is well. SA's problem was that most of the country side felt pretty empty and uninteresting to explore. I think this looks like it'll be a good blend of large urban areas and country side.
Also, I'm pretty sure they counted the underwater areas when they said that it's larger than all their open world games combined.

Ooooo gotta keep myself from ogling at that map all day~~~
