    Quote from Furyo

I'm surprised there are still people in the industry surprised by this kinda business protocols...embargos on reviews and previews (unless the score is high) have always been around it seems to me....It doesn't make the practice any more right or wrong (except to the eyes of the shareholders) but surprising? Hardly...

I'm well aware of these practices (If you're referring to me). However you rarely (If ever) hear about this, someone definitely went outta their way to make a point with this. Or maybe that guy from Gamespot was just pissed about the things that happend last year and wanted to stir up some trouble again.

Had a pretty good game with Warby on the 4th Act the other day, was pretty good fun. But apart from that I find it pretty underwhelming. Most of all it just feels more like a very polished mod rather than a full priced title. I donno, guess I'm not so easy to please.

I did keep an eye on Brothers in Arm's sales when it came out (Most of all because I was curious as to how a non CoD WW2 shooter would do at this point in time). From the sales it would definitely suggest that it hasn't broken even, and given Gearbox's size then I would actually be surprised if nothing like this had happen.

It totally sucks that this had to happen, but Gearbox is a good studio, I'm sure they'll bounce back.

But I guess that means that we've seen the last of the Bro's in Arms games

Can't be bothered to read what people here think of it, but I saw it yesterday and had very low expectations with all the so-so reviews there's been, but I really liked it. Sure its not as polished as Casino Royale in plot, but the action was fucking brilliant. And I for one don't give a fuck if it's action is very much inspired by the Bourne movies. I'd say that some of the chases in this movie were better than some of the stuff in the Bourne movies even.

And the people that say that "Ooooh, its not James Bond anymore, he's too aggressive and confrontational", go watch the old movies, I still love the old ones but they're completely different movies and I like that this is something else. Too much of that charming old prick, gimme some explosions!

I still think Casino Royale is a much better movie overall, but this was hardly the train wreck that a lot of the reviews I saw made it out to be.

Pretty much got through the entire game in one sitting, not that I think that's necessarily a bad thing, it doesn't overstay its welcome.

However I do agree with what most reviews have been complaining about, the trail and errorness of it. I definitely found myself grotesquely frustrated in parts, only to be pumping with adrenaline a minute later. It's a very uneven experience most of the time. When it works, it REALLY works, but when it doesn't, its absolutely horribly frustrating. I had a section of some narrow jumps and wall runs that shouldn't be hard considering what I had done earlier in the game, but I had to redo it around 30 times before I got it right. After something like that you would just wanna throw it away, but then it usually gets good so quickly afterwards.

Anyway, kinda uneven in the gameplay department, presentation is fucking amazing. I played the 360 version which is supposedly a tiny bit inferior to the PS3 version, but it still looked great (A tiny bit more contrasty than the PS3 version, maybe).

But its good overall, I'm going through the time trails now which are pretty good for a something extra, might go through it again on Hard later on. One might argue that its not that good value for money when your more or less done after 6 hours, but I've recently started appreciating games that dont overstay their due. Dead Space did that, and although I still like it, then having it be 3 hours shorter wouldn't have hurt.

  • Cliffy B the idiot?

Cliff is a media ho, and part of me really hates him (As one of my colleagues perfectly puts it, he has a very punchable face). That said, he knows what he's doing. He definitely knows how to make tight mechanics and games that just work through and through.

I'll admit that a lot of games recently that have released "betas" 1 month before the games hits the shelves is kinda ridiculous. When you're that close to shipping then its a fucking demo, not a beta.
