FYI the KGB page now shows the achievements' requirements.

Family is away for two weeks so I figured now is the right time. ![]()
Yeah, pity. There's still at least one other map on its way though, hopefully. I suspect the 'five arenas' they describe is basically one map split into five parts.
Stop your dreams at once! ![]()
Why do you do such a hard job? ![]()

Something I thought of the other day was a glove that delivers guaranteed crits if it's on fire. You can probably imagine what kind of scenario this is designed to aid in. ![]()

Presumably it'll be optimal when running a multi-GPU configuration. Then you've effectively got the choice between GPU power and PPU power, rather than having to buy a dedicated PPU card and being stuck with a paperweight for games that don't use it.
Sounds like the worst job ever. ![]()
The idea of using the GPU to assist in non-gaming stuff like video encoding seems pretty cool. ![]()
I think it's critically important the media give (ideally unbiased) views of things like this. I wouldn't feel more comfortable in a society where you're not even aware of ethnic cleansing, brutal war practice, and natural disasters that's occurring elsewhere in the world. If nothing else, the international pressure can go some way towards discouraging such things (except the latter).
I don't like to dwell on or think excessively about horrible things in the world, but they do deserve attention and consideration. If something like 9/11 can get such huge amounts of international attention, things like this which have comparable/vastly higher civilian death tolls should certainly get similar attention. Just because it's not in the UK, US, or doesn't mean it should be ignored.
The death toll just keeps on growing, with reports of 1600–2000 now — mostly civilians. I guess that old (Russian!) quote about many deaths being a statistic stands true, as most people won't hear about anything specific about the individuals whose futures, dreams, and families have been extinguished by this silly conflict. Kind of like Iraq to an extent. ![]()
What a time to do it, too. Just like the rest of us, many of the people killed thus far would have been wanting to sit down and enjoy the Olympics this week.
Now Gametrailers joins the party too. ![]()
Here's a Gametrailers URL:
Here's the ID isolated:
Here's how you'd post it:
And here's the end result:
[gametrailers]36435[/gametrailers]
OK, WeGame is now supported too.
Usage is exceedingly similar, with a regular WeGame URL looking like this:
You can see where the unique ID of the video is quite easily:
Which when pasted in looks like this:
It's important to ensure you don't accidentally paste in the slashes or it will fail. The end result looks like this:
[wegame]We_Work_for_GLaDOS_Now[/wegame]
Wasn't it pretty much Georgia that triggered this, though?
I don't know if that was a sarcastic jab or not Taylor, but they damn well ought to be for a community of 3D artists.
If you've ever linked to a YouTube video and thought it'd be nice if you could just include it in the post like an image, now you can. By using the new YouTube tag, you can embed any video on YouTube into your post unless the author specifically prohibits embedding (rare).
All you need to do is get any YouTube URL:
Identify the ID of the video:
And then wrap that ID in YouTube tags:
The result will look like this:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=eu88KIP27lQ&eurl=http://forums.mapcore.net/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=11692&p=204463
Similar tags could theoretically be produced for other sites too, although obviously I don't want to go too crazy with this. Feel free to leave suggestions below and I'll consider them once this has been tested for a while. ![]()
A slither of new media for Heavy Rain from the developers of Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy has appeared. Click the images for high-definition:
You see what you all did to that poor man, who was only trying to lovingly make a beautiful game for you?? ![]()
Not to be critical, but I don't think he's going to win any points off an employer for pointing out logos and sites everyone's seen a billion times. ![]()
KoKo5oVaR's suggestion is awesome, though!
