To be honest I didn't really like the servers with more than 32 players in BF2 or BF2142, it got a bit mental. However most of the maps were really well suited to that number, excluding the absolutely gigantic ones that nobody really liked anyway. Maps like Suez Canal and Gulf of Oman were spacious but pretty much perfect for 32 players. The one in the BC2 beta is clearly too small for 32 players IMO, but then it probably suits the CoD-like gameplay the Rush game mode is targeting.

From what I can see there's more to the map in the BC2 beta, but as in the previous games it's limited as per the game mode.

So far it hasn't impressed me nearly as much as the BF2 demo did way back. Though that is in large part due to the nature of the game mode in the beta. In the BF2 demo you had much more freedom to tackle capturing a point from whichever direction. You could sneak around a lot more. Everything feels to forced and confined, especially if you're in a vehicle. Despite the destruction it lacks playfulness and doesn't really feel like a battlefield. Does anyone know what game modes it will have and how large the maps are gonna be. The small FOV and lack of prone aren't helping, for all I care they could make one team blue and the other read, so they stand out but give the prone.

As far as I'm aware the final game will have the traditional ticket capture area game mode.

Er, you do realise you're in the 'History' tab which only shows servers you've already connected to don't you? The proper server browser is in the 'Multiplayer' menu.

My server list is like 1000 pages long. And very slow.

Damn, I can't seem to really play this at the moment. Any server I join seems to give me a weird lag thing where I'm constantly warping, so for example when in a parachute I'll constantly be jumping a little bit back through the air as I fall and all sorts of mental stuff like that.

I don't know if it's any good in Europe but there're literally hundreds of UK servers. Don't you see them? Maybe they're somehow region locked.

I have to say, in this shot the suit actually looks pretty good to my eyes — despite me not liking the original renders.

As long as it's nothing like CoD4's sniping I'm happy. Sniping shouldn't be easy.

I could have sworn I read earlier that prone would be present in the PC version?

Guh. What do you need to run it on its maximum settings (with a modest 2x AA) then?

God, man. Can one of you mention when the servers stop throwing players off constantly?

Lol, yes this is why I try to avoid betas — really annoying problems are inevitable. I'm thinking of backtracking on my temptation now if it's that bad at the moment, as some betas are worse than others.

Well, I tried to resist but I couldn't help but order the PC beta. Let me know if anything's going to piss me off as a Battlefield 2 / 2142 fan when I play it tomorrow!

Eh, so does playing a HD video — it's a choice people should be able to make if they want to make use of Flash content, which in my case would be defined as 'all the time'.

I'm sure they'll say use of resources is the reason, but let's face it we all know it isn't. Apple is just locking stuff down like Apple does best.

I bet Amazon is pretty pissed off. This and the iBook store are going to cripple their Kindle.

Yeah, I have to say Microsoft's product looks more appealing.

I mean I personally wouldn't use anything like these things, but I can see the draw for people who regularly use netbooks. They're the kind of people who will be drawn to iPads and Courier rather than people who want to do any serious work.

Yes, that would be seriously shit considering it'd otherwise be the ultimate netbook (or successor to, rather). Really hope that mistake isn't made.

One of the main features of the FB2 engine is almost complete destructibility of the environments, but I've got no idea whether that's going to be particularly prominent in Medal of Honor. Also DICE have been making aesthetically similar games for years with their own technology, and presumably that may speed up producing an in-depth multiplayer. They're not going to have any kind of UE-centric pipelines or processes.

Why they'd go to all this effort I don't know, though. What're they going to do, bill Medal of Honor's multiplayer as the next Battlefield?

How weird. The multiplayer may well end up like a canned version of Battlefield or something.

Looks awesome IMO. It's definitely got that characteristic plastic look, but I love the style regardless. I do hope it's bigger than the several areas we've seen for the last two years or so, though.
