The funny thing is that in virtually every popular multiplayer game I've played, no matter how many maps are available people tend to gravitate towards just a few anyway — and servers accomodate by running those maps 24/7. Does having 10,000 vehicles make for a more fun game that 10 or less really well-balanced ones?

Maybe they shouldn't have called this Battlefront, because I think it's causing fans of that franchise to become too attached to what existed before. For people like myself who never particularly liked those games but would love a really good Star Wars multiplayer romp that's along similar lines to Tribes, Battlefield, PlanetSide, etc then what DICE is doing with the new Battlefront looks excellent.

It's not going to be possible to please everyone, sadly. Lots of people will be buying this game because of DICE's involvement alone, and they have certain expectations too.

And yet it'll still probably be a much better game than Battlefront 2.

Sorry for doublepost but I guess this feature is not on Vista Home premium? Would be happy to recover models and textures I had made.

    Appears not. Sorry then.

Don't forget that Windows has built-in folder versioning, which keeps dated backups of files and folders if your hard drive space permits.

Try right clicking on the folder where your lost files were and selecting 'previous versions' or something like that in properties. If there's nothing there, try going to parent folders.

I don't know how well it copes with whole trees of folders but it's saved my butt a few times.

Doom 1 and 2 were straight-up action as I recall, like Duke Nukem 3D. I'd say the scary aspect only really came in with D3.

I did think that D3 was great for a few hours, but then the cycle of scares wore thin. I'd like to see D4 hit a similar mark to Half-Life, which is basically a generous helping of both scares and balls-out action.

Great suggestion!!!Listening from Spotify the whole of his works. I should follow you on Spotify, if you are on it.

I am on there via my Facebook (not sure how you add someone), although be warned I do listen to a great variety of stuff you might not be so keen on haha.

Man, it might sound like nitpicking but those hitting sounds with the physical stuff really need to be swapped by something else. Nothing screams more like a "I'M A HL2 MOD", than keeping those sounds.

Surely that's OK for this mod specifically though, because both Half-Life 1 and 2 already share lots of sounds. If anything it adds some in-universe consistency. xD

Looks a bit rough doesn't it? I'm not the biggest fan of the architecture anyway, but the visuals really do seem be lacking the impressiveness that Unity had — this actually looks last-gen apart from the cutscenes. Also, the big and open roads don't do the game any favours even if they are necessary to recreate the period, because they just produce swatches of boring, empty space.

I did really like the look of Unity, it gave me similar vibes that I recall from AC2. Is the story good though or is it just a churn of side-quest crap?

I ended up skipping Unity after the launch issues, so I expect to be highly blown away by this.

I haven't genuinely gotten into an AC since AC2, which I played to death. Maybe I just burnt myself out on the formula. I'm kind of feeling ready for it again though.

London is a potentially excellent setting, although I expect that it'll mean little non-city play. I wonder if the characters will all have French accents this time.

Ready for some déjà vu? While the number of completed entries was modest, a lot of time and love was put in by those who made it to the end of our mapping challenge to re-imagine a scene from the Half-Life series. Now that all three judges have taken the time to play through each level, we're delighted to release the RaiseTheBarVille map pack and identify the winners of this challenge. Thank you very much to everyone who participated!
