What's wrong with quoting @Vorontsov?

You got your square avatars, what more do you want from me??

@AlexM That is absolutely mental, you could have had a brush with death there! Or at least some severe beating. Lucky your partner was on the ball.

@Sjonsson Wow, either she gets off on voyeurism or she was trying to send you a message about looking at her.

I live in an apartment that kind of points towards a block of fancy student dorms, and it's not uncommon for me to be sitting there looking out of my window — towards the horizon and sky, not the block of dorms —while relaxing or eating, and suddenly some young Chinese student or something will appear at the window completely naked. It's one of those really weird situations where you're not quite sure what to do. I blame urban planners.

That isn't something I can do anything about sadly, the editor is designed to treat line breaks as paragraphs. If single line breaks are required, you can use SHIFT+RETURN. They've done this because it's increasingly the norm for editors in web applications to do this (particularly CMS), also it's what word processors such as Word do.

Just as a general note, please like a post if you agree with its complaint/suggestion. This will make it easier for me to filter and prioritise changes.

I need some good news about MGS5, jasus.

The main difference as I understand it is that they removed BBCode, so that everything is parsed and stored as HTML. This is theoretically a good thing for performance and maintenance, however it does mean that we can't really dive into the 'raw code' as we could before — although technically you couldn't before anyway, as it was all still re-parsed from BBCode. You can still use BBCode, but it's just converted straight away once the post is saved.
There are less buttons in the editor right now, but that's actually because they aren't all turned on. I'll add some of the more useful ones, like spoilers.

Lol, holy crap. Normally you can get rid of quotes pretty easily by clearing the text out of them and using backspace on the empty quote — I just successfully did this. That kind of quoting situation is pretty ridiculous though, so I'll experiment with having quote nesting disabled for a bit to see what that's like.
Good job you weren't around back when there was no limit at all on nested quoted and people were creating endless cascades of quotes. xD

Wtf @AlexM?! Please elaborate on this thankfully uneventful but exciting-sounding situation.

I had a look and it seems that if you hit the star/dot icon next to the thread title, that is a separate link that goes to the latest unread post. This also works on desktop breakpoints.

I'm going to report the editor quirks to the software vendor so that they can roll out fixes to these things. As the software itself is still relatively new there are going to be a lot of tweaks coming up I imagine.

Not nice. He lived to a good age though and died at the same time as his wife, which is in all honesty than many can hope for.

Maybe seir fancies taking a leak...

I think I've got trapped gas, which might sound funny but holy crap I am in pain.

I'm pretty much praying for my body to open the outlet right now because when I had similar last year it grew so painful that I was practically crying. Jesus.

It was available as an unofficial plug-in, not part of the core feature set though.
I'll see if I can reproduce that, it'll probably be a vendor fix though so I'll just report it if you haven't.

The way that older posts have had formatting issues is unfortunate, new posts seem to be fine in terms of paragraphs and quotes. I'll get in touch with the vendor to see if any treatment can be done to improve that.

[url='']@leplubodeslapin[/url] and [url='']@FRAG[/url], you should now be able to edit cover photos — the permissions for it seemed to be incorrect. Can you take a look?
[url='']@jackophant[/url] I just reproduced that, although slightly differently. For me it just goes to a blank screen, but funnily enough my avatar still changed (jesus that pic lol). I'll look into it more when I get home.
The round avatars thing is just how the software comes, although it can probably be overriden to square. I do kind of like how it more clearly distinguishes the difference between article images and status updates, although you can't actually see the article images right now. Feel free to express a yay or nay on them and I can take it all into account.

I think it's a great update, I didn't really feel the need for it but it looks cool. I can not wait to see the new features.
Also, how can I add a beautiful image in my profile like you did ?

There should be a button in the top right of that banner area on your profile.
If it doesn't appear, let me know and I'll see if there's a permission issue. -
The forum does decide itself which features to hide to help fit onto small screens. It's not perfect so I'll look into making tweaks. Jumping to the last page is a pretty useful one so I'll investigate that when I can.

I keep getting this too but it seems to go away randomly.
After a closer look I do really like the new style and everything else they've added, but it might be a tad too zoomed in
This might sound a little patronising (it's not meant to), but if you zoom out using your browser things might look a bit more to your taste. Because the new software update is responsive, it reacts better to different screen sizes and levels of zoom — so things should still look fine if you zoom out, which will bring things closer together and reduce the text size.
