A bit OTT perhaps, but it is fairly alarming that this story has been very public for like a week now and Apple is yet to respond with any action.

It seems to be becoming a somewhat established tactic to make retail copies of games de facto special versions, which include DLC that really should be considered part of the original purchase — and is. It's just to discourage piracy and reselling.

I have to say that I like what 2142 did with classes. In my opinion BF2 was just a bit too heavy on classes, whereas 2142 condensed it somewhat and effectively made each class into two by providing two distinct unlock paths. It worked well IMO, similarly to how you start with a base class in Team Fortress 2 but can use unlocks to change the actual role of the class significantly. I think bombarding players with too many choices to start off with is a bad thing, and adding depth to the game via unlocks which are alternatives and not necessarily upgrades is just one of the things Battlefield has pretty much pioneered.
Bad Company 2 did seem to be a step too far when it comes to class conglomeration, but I didn't spend much time with it so I don't think it's fair for me to comment on what effect it had on the gameplay.

Killzone is finally going to live up to its promise?!

On Sarif? No, he sounded more like Jeff Bridges (Iron Man villain) or someone. Can't pinpoint it myself, either.
The main character does indeed sound like a mix between Christian Bale's throaty Batman voice and Neo, though.

Yeah the assets are definitely not OK to re-sell, and also there's surely a trademark case over the name 'Lugaru' — assuming they actually trademarked it. The sad part is the developer probably doesn't have the funds to bother with lengthy trademark and copyright lawsuits, so until Apple wakes up and resolves the issue (the worst part of this whole thing IMO) they're going to get little justice.

Game of 2011.

I intend to just go through my whole life not worrying too much about these things because there're plenty of other people to do it for me.

That's the weird thing about Heavy Rain and its predecessor Fahrenheit. Despite both being critically flawed in many ways, they nonetheless make for very enjoyable experiences that I look back on fondly.

LOL! Excellent.

Yeah, man. And it's not like it's hard to get hold of plentiful headcrab hats. Even I pop one on from time to time!

Wow, extremely well put together and quite a nice little story to boot! Obviously it has it's flaws presumably being a student work, but it so perfectly evokes the unique HL2 atmosphere for me I can't possibly start picking at it.

Actually reminded me how awesome the game was. They totally nailed the feel of the game with some bits, like when he gets to the old industrial building which almost looks like it was custom made for HL2.

Oh, god yeah. Releasing Subsistence is one the biggest saves in gaming history IMO; free-roaming makes such a huge difference to the quality of the gameplay. It's pretty much vital if you want to enjoy the game because unlike MGS1 and MGS2 there's no proper radar — you need to be able to see ahead. Without Subsistence you have to constantly go into first-person.

I got it on release fortunately, have noticed the epic prices it goes for nowadays though.

The games are so good though, and a huge part of Sony's legacy. I'm amazed they're not on PSN yet, although I like to think it's inevitable they will be. Probably too much to ask to hope that Twin Snakes rather than regular MGS1 be released in high-tea though.

Gah, so annoying that newer PS3 models don't do this. I really want to play MGS3 with anti-aliasing and a higher resolution. Hopefully they'll eventually stick Subsistence on PSN.

Ace. How long is the single-player campaign? (You may answer this when finished.

You might have noticed the forums were down for a few hours just now, and unless you happen to have me or MapCore on Facebook you had no way to know what was going on.

Basically the forums had some malicious material posted on them a few days ago, and Google reported it to the host. They let me know and asked me to sort it out, which I did and then emailed them notification of. Unfortunately this email got lost in the depths of the web and never got through, so they suspended it as a precaution assuming I was AWOL.
Hope your journeys home and shit weren't ruined too much by MapCore being absent!!!!!

Skjalg wins the 'Best Job of MapCore' award designing remote-powered sentries, however twiz is surely a close runner-up being deeply involved with the US nuclear program.

I have a similarly exciting job, being a web designer/front-end developer for some Nottinghamshire web design agency.
