Don't like the game, but I sure do love Blizzard's cinematics.

That looks great! To say you didn't do much with the lighting the overall look is lovely, you have a good eye for composition.

I started reading the Half-Life wiki yesterday out of boredom. Holy fuck, I thought I was in-tune with what happened in HL1 and HL2 but the level of detail in that fucker is mindblowing, and has given me an even greater appreciation of how pitch perfect HL1 was in terms of pacing, writing, etc. Now I feel all nostalgic and really want BM:S so I can play it, then HL2, then HL3.

Is it bad that for me, remembering rolling around Black Mesa is like many people remembering their childhood days playing on parks and shit?

Aftermath is all the existing maps in fully-destroyed form. As you play the maps rebuild themselves. Eventually you go back in time to 1942.

Man, it really needs to stop raining so much here. I can't stop taking photos of it! This time I decided to go the extra mile and get some sweet footage, though.

Haha, when did we start letting developers get away with just releasing untextured maps?

How popular was the multiplayer in C2? I always find it hard to imagine primarily single-player games like Crysis having particularly strong multiplayer communities in this era of pretty much everyone sticking to a few FPS IPs, even though the quality of many games' multiplayer offerings seems to be really high. It must really piss off you guys who work on the MP side of things knowing that your work will almost certainly be underrated and under-appreciated.

With that said, I guess as long as you have people to play with it's all good. I guess I miss the days when multiplayer communities were really strong and you gamed with the same guys all the time.

It's pretty much the same in any freelancing game, really: your success is proportionate to the number and quality of contacts you have. This is why it's much easier to go into it after having already done the rounds a bit in regular full-time work. Also having lots of industry friends like MapCorians can be useful for getting you touch with people.

Currently spending most of my time working from home until September, as I'm the only UK guy on the team until then. In some ways it's awesome being in such comfortable surroundings as I can have my music system on full blast, peruse my kitchen, and take breaks without worrying about some director or client strolling round the corner seeing my laid back with my legs gaping wide open and being all .

On the other hand, I often procrastinate like fuck and end up working until 2am some nights to get everything done for deadlines. I also find myself less enthused, creative, and looking forward to work due to the blurrier line between work and leisure, which is probably because I'm just not that great at disciplining myself. Yet in an office environment I'm fantastic at hitting deadlines, managing time/projects, etc.

Kickstarter is a good idea, I've seen some surprising success stories on there. Conversely, some I thought would do great actually didn't. I guess it's largely down to how well you market the idea of the game and what you show — at least with so much development already you have a lot in that department rather than shallow promises. If you can name drop past employers and stuff in the description, even better.

It is a lot of effort and I'd understand if you all just wanted to move on, but something to consider as a last ditch attempt if all else fails. The worst that can happen is you don't get fully funded, in which case Kickstarter awards nothing.
