A while ago we had an assignment at school where you had to model an instrument as detailed as possible. Nothing spectacular i guess, i didn't have enough time to finalize it properly. Simple object, simple background, be gentle

Well, like i said the assignment was to model any kind of instrument, of course i chose banjo! I study 3d arts in finland, first year now, same school where skdr is on a third(?) year now.

Our Uni course's second assignment was to model an instrument, the first being an object.

Looks very well done, but for some reason the head looks a little small but that may be my "being accustom to guitar bodies" getting in the way. looks nice.

What gives it away big time for me is the size of the skirting board in the background, it feels like its about an inch tall, most houses here in the UK have them around 4-6" tall.

Either that or its a banjo for a 20ft tall person.

4-6 inches? Isn't that around 10-15 centimeters? If so, that's one big ass skirting board. I just measured mine and it's about 4 centimeters, and i am still talking about the skirting board.

Yeah, 4-6 inches. The current shoddy student house I am in has ones at least that big, see picture below. Its an old house, 1930's era terrace house so they are larger than normal but even the ones back home are at least 3" tall.

    Crazy Euro small skirting boards.

that sounds like a trend of earlier 20th century architecture ginger. there's some buildings here from the 20s and they had higher skirt boards also.. the ones in my house look about 2.5 inches 3 tops.. but not like 5 or 6 inches.
