Started S.T.A.L.K.E.R. last night, loving it to bits so far, the only problem I have is with some dodgy animations and stupidly hard firefights. Even on the medium graphical settings, it still looks an amazing game and atmosphere is fantastic!

Started this up a couple days ago as well. So good, but damn, the auto saves are infrequent. Been setting me back quite a ways when I suddenly get in a firefight with some wandering enemies and get messed up. Gotta get back into quick-saving like a whore mode

Il2 1946 (finally found a kickass combat flying sim!), Phun (video, download) and Test Drive: Unlimited on occasion.

What other good arcade flying sims might there be out there?

Crimson Skies on the original Xbox is pretty awesome, and very arcadey. You can also get it for the 360 through the "xbox originals" download service, though you could probably buy the boxed version (which is backwards compatible) for cheaper.

I appreciate the advice and offer I've been considering Ace Combat 6 for quite a while and just now I discovered there is a joystick bundle version that seems to be completely awesome. Just look:

Now I need to find a proper retailer

Been playing Lego Star Wars TCS on my newly acquired 360. Had loved Lego Star Wars 2 on the PS2, so I thought I'd go for the entire saga. Also purchased Rock Band which I have a hard time beating on Expert, the DLC is absolutely awesome though. Then I'll still have Forza 2 and the two games Ubi gave me for Christmas, AC and Naruto.

On the PC, I recently purchased the max payne bundle off Steam. I always wanted to play through Max Payne again and it wouldn't work with XP, now it does and I got disappointed. It's sometimes best to stick with your fond memories.... I also got Audiosurf out of wanting to see what the deal was, and also to support independent game developers every once in a while.

    Oh and TF2 obviously

Most of the time I'm playing Call of Duty 4 multiplayer. It's got its good and bad points. If the community of players wasn't so deplorable I'd have far more happy memories of it though.

When I get tired of that I step back into Team Fortress 2. Where the hell is that next "Meet the Class" video anyway?

Please elaborate! I play on one specific "hardcore" server most of the time and beside people constantly calling each other "n00b" it's pretty awesome. We just play "search and destroy" and some of the players on it play amazingly well. It really makes a difference what server you play on.

I'm always on the FUBAR Hardcore Team Deathmatch servers. I've had to deal with a lot of annoying kids who were obsessed with a good kill to death ratio. They always try to convince everyone else on the server that I'm a complete noob (one was actually 20 levels below me.)

I explain that it's a GAME, and that I prefer having fun to crawling everywhere and camping to ensure maximum life, but they just go on and on. Into the next round, when I haven't typed a word, they start right up again. Thankfully they always leave, and I never see them again, but there's always a fresh one.

I bounce around a bunch of hardcore servers and can't say it's been any worse than other PC games. Just be glad you aren't on Xbox Live.

I picked up Persona 3 (it’s only just come out here! ) and it’s really awesome. The only bad thing about the game is it’s so hard to explain why it’s awesome, because you have to use "dating simulator" and "random dungeons" when describing it. But it actually works very well, the graphics are a generation behind now but work as they are nicely stylised, especially the occasional
