'I got a letter this morning, I feared the worst and I got the worst, cancer of the lung, my punishment for all those years of non stop chain smoking. That was the problem with the NAM, they handed those things out like candy on a regular basis, probably would never have coped so well if it wasn't for smokes. I guess my best years are behind me. Regrets? Sure, there are many... but you can't change the past so what's the point in dwelling on it? Anyway, there's no rest for the wicked, I've got work to do, some kid ran away to a place called Pinewood Creek and hasn't been heard from since, now her father needs me to go there and find out what's happened to her. It seems the authorities aren't giving him any answers, claiming they've never even seen the girl, I guess I'm his last hope. Maybe if I find this girl, God will give me a chance for Redemption.. you know.. if there actually is a God. Well.. I guess I better get going, I want to be out on the highway before dark. Pinewood Creek here I come...'

The Forgotten is a single-player third-person survival horror game for Half-Life influenced by the likes of Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Forbidden Siren, Clive Barker's Hellraiser / Tortured Souls and Blood among other things. As private detective Jack Dawson, you will travel to the town of Pinewood Creek to investigate the disappearance of Claire Benton.

    > Venture through the town of Pinewood Creek and the surrounding Diamond Lake, non-linear layouts encourage freedom of exploration.

    > Interact with complex and interesting characters, find out what they know.

    > Solve puzzles and riddles to gain valuable information and items and delve deeper into the history of Pinewood Creek.

    > Graphic novel sequences help the deep storyline to unfold.

    > Fight off hideously disfigured creatures from another realm, creations beyond your wildest comprehensions.

    > Highly detailed environments bring the experience to life creating some of the most advanced areas ever made for the Goldsource engine.

    > Your journey will take you through areas like Nate's Motel and Pinewood County Police Station through to Jack's own personal nightmare.

Rest assured that things are progressing well, so stay tuned for more media to come within the next month or so, you know I'm worth it

d3 basically has been working on a rather impressive (atleast from the screenshots) mod for half-life 1. I assuming its monster-themed like AoM mod.

also jack dawson was the name of the guy from the titanic movie

Looks great; but are there anymore previews? No offense, it's almost hard to believe that's Half-Life 1 but it's only one room.

Not entirely, I have some other people to help out a bit including a basic codebase similar to RE4. I'll be getting a couple of my RL friends to do the graphic novel parts.

    Patience my child!

Here's how much detail is involved in the back part:

I think your maps could benefit from more contrasted light.

Something like this. Just a suggestion

    i stopped reading after that.

    JUST KIDDING

it looks pretty good for the hl1 engine, but as people have said before, start on a new engine instead. i bet your map would be easily transferred to source if you let it.
