I doubt very much that will happen, for somewhat obvious reasons ![]()
Quote from duxI still don't get how people think the mod is great. The game play was dull and repetitive. The environments were boxy and dull it felt as if the level design had come straight from 1999. The AI was simply terrible. Music was completely out of place. Textures were poor. While they are to be commended on all of the custom content, certainly - I feel this could have been so much better.
It's not the best mod no, but it is the most polished along with Poke 646 and Vendetta, the fact that everything is new is something that I've not encountered in a HL mod before. AI is terrible? It's no worse than HL2's 'side step and fire at the player' rubbish, I think the AI works well, like I said in the review the way your squad follow you around and cover the area reminds me of Call Of Duty. The hitboxes needed some work however...
Dull level design I can understand, given how depressing the locations are but boxy? How? It's true that they could have pushed the detail further though, but it would have required a lot more time and it might never have been released, sometimes sacrifices have to be made. I don't think the level-design is boxy, don't forget Russia is a poor country in comparison to some so some of the architecture is simpler and fancy curves and stuff probably don't appear very often in buildings...
The time I had a dumb team mate following me all he would do is block me and just stand watching me as a zombie stood there clawing his ass off while I stabbed it 50 times with the knife because I had no ammo from having to unload entire clips into enemies. There were so many locations that were extremely poor looking for the amount of time it was in development and the fact it's so easy to map for Half-Life I expected better.
This might explain something:

lol...
like it being for hl1, and hl1 having been phased out for years now. it doesnt have alot (if any at all) commercial value to them
Not really, more to do with the fact that it uses content from other games, it wouldn't be such a good idea for Valve to plug a mod like that.
Also it copies a 'opengl32.dll' into your Half-Life folder which is needed to run the new features, VAC detects this as a hack and bans you. Removing the file gets around this, but not everyone is in the know-how about such things...
honestly deads, i am pretty sure that whatever they put on their front is throughoutly of marketing value. technicalities can always be solved and i could see valve asking them to remove those things before posting it, if it did indeed have any commercial value.
also those reasons you posted dont seem blatantly obvious.
WOW, now I understand why headshots were almost useless. I feel a lot less stupid now, to boot.
*WARNING*
This mod contains a modified opengl32.dll file, the chances are that this will be picked up by VAC2 and thus ban you for possible cheats. Be VERY cautious when playing this mod with the opengl32.dll file!

Was killing soldiers in 3 shots max with pistol headshots. Zombies on the other hand I was usually down to my knife stabbing for hours. ![]()
Deads, come to the dark side and admit that They Hunger is the best Half-Life mod of all time ![]()

What do you mean by "banned" exactly? This is not a multiplayer mod, they can't ban you from singleplayer games.
VAC bans are Steam-wide.
It seems Dux is saying that the OpenGL.dll can be picked up by VAC even if it's in another game mod's directory. If so, that's a little insane.
Did I? ![]()
BS - the problem is that the OpenGL32.dll is placed in the HALF-LIFE Folder and that unlike Source-Mods there's no Folder-Difference. Half-Life Mods are just packed all together in the Half-Life Folder and share the same resources apart from some client.dlls and if you have an OpenGL32.dll file in your Half-Life Folder now (not in the Half-Life/Paranoia for some reason) you get back to Half-Life Deathmatch and get banned.

Haven't yet checked put the mod, but I haven't checked out much stuff in a while. Probably will do at a later date, who knows.
Yeah dux you did.
