If its not too late already, I had the same issue. Just add "-engine ep1" to the launch options and it should load up. Unless ofcourse you've got it working already.
Any news on when the model browser will be fixed?
Mike will be back on it on Monday, and should keep a steady rate of incoming updates, no idea when that one will be fixed as he's posted he hasn't been able to fix it yet on Friday.
Anyone else getting disconnected after about a minute when testing their map locally? Not sure if it's sdk/map related or what...
Something makes my map crash when running without vrad. A looping error in the console and I'm sent back to windows. That's the only thing remotely close to this I 've seen
Is studiomdl.exe broken too?
I keep getting "Error: Bad Command {" followed by
"SMD MODEL C:\Documents and Settings\William Tyler\Desktop\villa_bookcase.smd
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'villa_bookcase'
StudioMDL Thread complete"
Both the ep1 and orangebox versions of studiomdl.exe work fine for me. orangebox version pops up all kinds of weird warnings and runtime errors but still seems to compile okay
If you're using the orangebox version did you use -nop4 ?
can you upload your ep1 version then so i can try it? i've compiled models all week and just tried a previous successful model and same result! uhh frustrating.
AHAHAHAHA VALVE
LOL GUISE
SRSLY
IT WAS FUNNY
NOW GIVE ME MY FUCKING SDK BACK
Quote"I guess that I hadn’t really considered the fact that all three games in the Orange Box have a pretty good dose of humour to them. I know in Episode Two we did really want to bring more humour into the franchise. I mean, Half-Life had plenty of humourous moments, if a dark kind of comedy. The setting and premise of Half-Life 2 was pretty dark, and we did try to make you believe in the Combine oppression of humanity. But over time, as a team, we wanted to bring back some of the Half-Life humour into the franchise without diluting the sense of gravity."
Its what you wanted right?
With regards to the Bad Command report with studiomdl, this is what Mike posted on Steampowered:
QuoteThe new directory structure is probably messing with Studiocompiler. If his tool allows you to change the path to studiomdl.exe then you should try that.
So I guess, my question is "Are you dropping your qc file on the proper studiomdl.exe file? (in the proper bin directory)
Yes. Redownloaded everything as well. I'll just wait till they fix the problem like they say they will.
