Many developers work on multiple titles at one time, though usually not all the titles are in the same stages of development. GB is also working on BiA: Hell's Highway which I assume is further along than Aliens or this one. Helps keep people busy and balanced with right amount of work across a studio as titles ramp up and down.

So we got this one, Aliens and BiA3.....

Anyway "Diablo meets Mad Max" sounds awesome compared to most game pitches I evaluate which usually go something like: "Halo meets WoW meets Super Mario...it's going to be the best game ever!"

I know this seems like an ironic thread to throw down the ban stick... but I've had enough of this dude.

Hope no one minds He's gone for good.

    Haha, pure awesomeness. GJ Mike

Anyhow, by the looks of it, this should definitely be fun (COOP FTW!), and any game with an apocalyptic theme is worthy of my 60 smackaroos.

Is this serious? They are making a game that is so close to iDs rage. I mean from what I see on the cover, there are post apoc elements, and it's sci-fi and it has motorized stuff. With rpg elements? Wow, iDs game also is suppose to have some minor rpg elements.

Well id are just making a game engine with some loose semblance of a game hanging off it, like they usually do these days. I don't really think anyone is excited about it.

Ok 4 player coop, yeah whatever that doesn't sound so ground-breaking to me. Maybe it's coop ala Left 4 Dead.

It's funny when magazines who get a scoop on something and go over the top. I remember when CVG got told of Halo 3 letting you change what your character looks like - hardly amazing innovative - yet it got a whole page devoted to it, 50% of which was the text "HALO GOES SUPERNOVA!!!"

How do you mix Diablo, Mad Max, Sci-Fi, FPS, Coop and RPG into one game without destroying them all? Hack and slash doesn't really go along with RPGs.

Let me guess what the game will be like; Stalker with cars!

Taylor, I like iDs character design a lot more than the ones from GBX in the cover. I also recall that they are actually making a game, and not just an engine.

I thought stolve's bashing of fo3 based on a 30 second cinematic trailer was impressive; but this, this puts that to shame... based on 13 words and some concept art on the cover of a gaming magazine. Truly, a new bar has been set.

Since that's all I have to work with, I have to give it a shot.I've never really been a fan of the entire "Let's wait until it's release with our crits", I'd rather be proven wrong.

And wondering how you mix up so many different things, and end up with a good result, is that considered bashing?

Stalker with cars isn't a bad thing, I just imagine that is what the finished product will feel like.

Borderlands features a groundbreaking content generation system allowing for near-endless variety in missions, environments, enemies, weapons, item drops and character customization.

Isn't that what Oblivion was supposed to be

Anyways.. I have faith that Gearbox will deliver.

Can't really judge by what little I've seen or read of the game.

post apocalypse, the new ww2 of games? We'll see in years to come.

Just throwing that out there for the hounds.
