It's just like Guitar Hero. Proper musicians will mostly hate it, and wannabe musicians will most likely love it.

I for one am a fan of the GH series. Forget proper music, it's one game that got one thing right...it's actually a game. and it's fun, and even more when played with others.

Activision bought RedOctane, the publisher and owner of Guitar Hero, and got the rights for GH2 developed by Harmonix.

Harmonix is now developing Rock Band and set to blow the shit out of GH3, which Activision has farmed off to Neversoft. They're milking the old franchise for as much money as they can before harmonix wipes them off the map with the far better understanding of how to make the game

Games like this are great because personnally, I'm not musical and would rather dick around on guitar hero for a couple hours and then spend my real time learning new software rather than an instrument that will never take me anywhere

    Quote from Rick_D

This whole thing is just so cheesy, I never played any games like it so I can't say that with any authority, but by god you can't look at that video and not cringe.

And there you have the reasoning for most of the negative comments and now I present to you why this game will sell:

Rock Band: Now you don't need a karaoke machine. I can see parties breaking down into events like the one in the video, if solely for the fact they are planning on releasing whole albums and thousands of planned songs. $$$

not that i've researched this much...but as long as you can solo and party play, it works.
