I like it. Just these areas:

They`re not good yet. Try to get a better foundation for these pillars

I have my items and player spawns in, and a skybox now. Still have no idea how it's gonna play, so I hope to get some playtesting done between now and the deadline...

    Obligatory pic:

Thanks people in #mapcore for help with fog/phys objects!

That reminds me of the chinese islands merkaba. Lots of atmoshere. Its coming along nicely. I'd still like to see you merge some man made architecture into the rock work, and maybe think of some more routes to get onto different 'floors'

Er....there is more to the map than the screenshots I have provide; it's not like there aren't other routes out of camera

Still a lot of work to do, especially on displacements...

Great contest btw, the space's constraint is really a nice idea.

    looking nice.

the building could be more rounded.. thats something like a 12 sided cylinder?

there should propably be something under that bridge...

doesn't seem to hold the weight of couple of players...

i like those wooden things on the right (1st shot)

That looks awesome - hard to believe it's just HL2 assets, which is always a good sign! I agree that the circular tower could use a few more sides to it, but it isn't deal breaking. Nice work

Well, I had planned to do what you have suggested...but then I thought it was nice like this, I dont know, it has a sort of "magic" feeling...which I think is cool.

I agree, but it's too much work to had more faces now, so well...

Did a lighting test. I'm not to happy how the map turning out but I'll try to adjust some things, hopefully it ends well. I'll show the inside once it doesn't look ugly The screenshot is wide because I cut out some of the bottom which was dark and empty.

Not sure what you're talking about, PhilE. I kinda like the base architecture. Its got some potential. Keep it up.

    Hey mapcorians!

It was a long time since I last made a map. Something like 1-2 years ago.

Ever since I got occupied with studies Im only had chance to fool around some in photoshop in my freetime, but Im always been interested to test the new Hammer. So when I saw this competition, I thought it was a great way to explore the new features.

    /me discovers the new Hammer

So yesterday I started building this fast action map with a gravity tunnel in the middle. Pretty much just to test the new features displacements and 3d skyes, but also of course to make a fun map for everyone!

PS. god damn its easy to make cliffs nowadays!

IMO the best part is the way the colours, skybox & fog blend together beautifully It's totally seamless and enhances things a lot.

I just wish I had the time to enter this thing; it looks like a lot of fun
