Ok so this looks absolutely fantastic and if Sin City is anything to go by, then it will end up being a hit.

So who else wants to DINE IN HELL!!??

Note: If you don't know what I'm talking about, please crawl back under your rock...

It was a good movie, although in my opinion it needed to be an hour longer at least.

I heard 2 comments on it so far, one bad and one excellent. The one that said it was bad said it was no story line only blood. Well i just love everything about history so i hope i will like it and i for sure will go see it.

    Quote from IMDB

    # ccording to an interview with IGN.com, Director Zack Snyder says that fighting styles and formations (particularly the Spartan's phalanx) were purposefully changed - making them historically inaccurate - so they'd "look cool" and work better for movie purposes.# The movie never claims to be historically correct. It is based somewhat loosely on Frank Miller's 1998 comic book mini-series. Changes from history were made by Miller and Snyder so as to appeal to a wider audience and create a more exciting and visually stunning action movie, rather than a typical historical epic.

I'm soo looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed it. I wasn't looking for some hi concept script. I wanted lots of ass kicking, and I got it.

Yeah every reviewer seems to think this movie was based on realistic history, did they not watch the trailer??? hummm, wolf with glowing eyes, mutants and creatures, comic art driven look, yeah I wander! That is mainly the only reason this movie was butchered by reviews.

Anyway its really good if you like art, blood, and ass kicking.

    Looks meh...

I'm kinda sick of these overblown 'cool' movies. I'm OK with 1 QT movie every ten years if he can stay off the crack.

I've watched the trailers many times now, and I'm still not bored of them. I love trailers that just give me that spine-shivering feeling of "awesome!" when you watch them. I'm really hoping the movie doesn't disappoint me as it seems to have done for quite a few critics, who seem to think it is little more than a computer game. But then again I did love Advent children, so what are the chances I won't love another over the top action fest

I thought it was absolutely amazing. Just went to go see last night. Its a total guy-flick, I went to see it in a group of like 11 guys from school. Great visuals, action, and some boobies to boot. I went in expecting to see 2 hours of ass-kicking, and it was what I got. After walking out of the theater I was extreamly happy that I spent the money on going to see it in the theater, not to mention the fact that I had a sudden urge to jab somthing with a spear.

An Iranian official on Sunday lashed out at the Hollywood movie "300" for insulting the Persian civilization, local Fars News Agency reported.Javad Shamqadri, an art advisor to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, accused the new movie of being "part of a comprehensive U.S. psychological war aimed at Iranian culture", said the report.

Shamqadri was quoted as saying "following the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Hollywood and cultural authorities in the U.S. initiated studies to figure out how to attack Iranian culture," adding "certainly, the recent movie is a product of such studies."

The movie's effort wound be fruitless, because "values in Iranian culture and the Islamic Revolution are too strongly seated to be damaged by such plans", said the Iranin official.

Shamqadri, who is also a filmmaker, said that production of more domestic and artistic films which portray Iranian achievements is a proper response to movies like "300".

"300," an ancient epic about the famous Battle of Thermopylae in Greek history, set a new record at the box office in North America this weekend.

The Warner Bros. adaptation of the 480 B.C. battle took an estimated 70 million U.S. dollars in its debut weekend, according to figures released on Sunday by Los Angeles-based box office track firm Media by Numbers.

The R-rated film, based on comic book writer Frank Miller's graphic novel, tells the story that an army of 300 Spartan warriors led by their king Leonidas fought to the death to delay a massive Persian army's invasion, so that the Greeks could reorganize a counterattack.

Not my cup of tea. The movie felt empty and was very boring in my opinion. No story only a bunch of fags (seriously they look like that) slaying each other.

If you like historical incorrect epic battle movies i suggest Apocalypto and Kingdom of Heaven (only in the Directors Cut). I enjoyed both movies much more.

That 4 hour cut of Kingdom of Heaven is fucking great.
