has anyone seen the secret ending? its very cool infact I was delighted about the whole secret area since I was slightly dissapointed i got the "rich" ending

anyways there is a patch out, but allow me to make thsi perfectly clear once again:

once installed you cannot resume your old save games, you have to start all over.

i just want everyone to be aware bc i wasnt and now i haev to start all over , but i beat it so i guess i'll have more fun this time exploring

I have an EVGA 7600, and even with the game on low/minimum settings my game slows up in certain areas. One of the problem areas would be the freedom camp north of where the bar is. If I look at anything but the ground, my game gets choppy. Is the draw distance causing the problem?

hard to say.. but it may be the grass density + the texture quality and the anti aliasing if you have it on in the options..

    Try this:

    http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewto ... 6&start=40

Should probably help you atleast a bit.

I've heard great things about the patch, but since I'm currently broke and playing warez'd shit (and almost have finished it) I won't update yet

Traders get mo' shit to spend your money on, that's great since I got like 120k and nothing to buy except for tons of 5.56 in Yukrov :S

    fucking thieving bastards <_<

you're putting some poor eastern europeans out of business because of your greed. I'm disappointed in everybody that has stolen the game, it's the best game ever and you can't even be bothered to hand over some of your paper as a token of thanks for 5 years work, shameful.

I have only managed to get 3 endings so far, refusal one being the best just because you get to explore a little more.

I heard there were 7 endings? Fuck knows how to get the rest of them but I'll browse around now that I am not afraid of spoilers. Going to install the patch and start it again.

    What a fantastic game.

I took a first look into modding today. Thought it would be nice to create smoother alpha maps for all the foliage textures since all of them are saved in DXT1 with only 1bit for the alphas. But here is the problem. The engine seems to override all 8 bit alphas no matter what i try.

Looking deeper in the Stalker textures it seems the whole games uses only 1bit for alphas which is a bit lame. I hope its not hardcoded and someone finds a solution for this problem.

I just need money first, currently I have like 33 cents. I'll get something like 300$ in a couple of days, then I'll buy it. GSC truely deserves every single penny I spend on the game.

After You see the game ending the next thing are credits and then the menu, what I was hoping for was that I will actually be able to continue exploring the zone after the grande finale, but well, seems like you can't do that, shame because there is unlimited amount of quests and stuff to take a look at

Im interested in buying it but Id hate not being able to explore the world to its fullest. Arent you able to just save like 80 percent through the story line and then forget the whole story and explore the world freestyle and for weeks on end? Or cant you go everywhere/do everything yet until the very very end?

I think you are able to do that, but you get pretty tired of all the same spots after a while

they really rush you through the last two areas which is a fuckin' shame as they seem to be some of the most entertaining and well designed.

Well, I passed the system requirements test at http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/.

However, even with the tweak posted I still run slowly, from what I can tell - the dynamic lighting is killing me. I'll try some more things and get back to you guys.

FYI, I have not installed the patch for the game because I do not want to lose my progress in the game so far!

I am pretty much stuck with static lighting, whch is a pain since the dynamics add a great deal of atmosphere. I am running the game on a 7800gt which would probably be ok if I was playing at a sensible res, but my monitor is 1920x1200 so no dynamics for me till I can afford that 8800gtx I got my eye on...

It ran great for me with static lighting but the atmosphere was totally. lost. So I thought fuck it and put the dynamic lighting on full. Bit choppy at times but well worth it for the atmosphere it provides.
