The real "dead zone" near chernobyl is everything else then without life. in fact its a paradise for nature and wild animals.

Also the game is not set in a postapocalyptic scenario! The world around chernobyl still exists postapocalyptic would mean that the whole civilization on earth would be destroyed.

Stalker is so good even my mum is playing it.

To be honest I've been playing a warezed version of Stalker the last 2-3 days. I'm buying it as soon as I get enough money. It's a fucking masterpeice. No doubt.

Might suck abit when it comes to performance, but the story, characters, factions, special stuff and the horror is magical. ps who names an entire fucking zone full of people and shit? PSS it's fucking HARD.

Best fps\rpg I've played in a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time. X18 is the most scary thing I've ever been playing. I was so scared and I almost pee'd my pants but I still couldn't stop playing it.

stalker is the scariest game since System Shock 2 imo. i had to stop playing today because it made me too nervous.

because doom3 had me quaking in my boots pretty much from start to finish, but stalker doesn't get me like that at all

DOOM 3 and FEAR both have nothing on this game. i had to span it out because i was getting just freaked. the thing that makes it scary is the atmosphere, its constantly eerie without pushing it to the limit. Doom 3 had a 5 second spook thing where a monster would pop up every 5 seconds, FEAR was predictable with its music changing when something scary was about to happen. In Stalker you never know when something freaky is going to happen unless your going for some documents in an underground facility

Awesome game totally worth the buy!

Spent all day yesterday playing it, though there are certainly plenty of flaws and bugs, I have to agree with everyone else here in saying it's excellent fun. Best shooter I've played since HL2, possibly better in terms of it's ambition and scope.

Ti's bloody hard though, or perhaps it was ambitious of me to start it on too high a difficulty level (thank fook for quicksave) I didn't want to finish it too quickly though, and at this rate I am certainly not going to

infact you seem to have 7 endings, i've finished it in 2 days, rushing directly on chernobyl, but i had the worst ending ever, so do the quests

Played it today and yesterday, just about to move to X18, failed one quest so far (forgot about bringing that protective suit to a guy).

You guys finding it scary? Girls. I'm finding it tense but from what you lot are saying you're shitting yourselfs major time. I went down into x18, come across random bloodsuckers trying to rip my face off but the only thing thats made me jump slightly is a barrel falling on me in x18.

Buy this game kids, just finished it and I have to say I have never been so utterly glad I picked a game up in my life. It just rocks ass, and if you have any interest in Chernobyl or those kinds of environments at all its like a gift from god.
