Hooray! Let's all prepare to have our hearts broken, so that we might be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't suck.

There arleady was a review of it in polish magazine.

    SPOILER

    .|

    .|

    \/

It's definatly not mistake of the year, might be one of best titles of 2007.

    +Fascinating World

    +Interesting Storyline

+Lots of guns (in the review you can read that they have really good balance)

    +Unlimited amount of missions/quests

    +7 diferent endings

-Difficulty level (Enemies are too strong in their opinion)

-No Vehicles. (It's the worst point of the game according to the review becuase You have to traverse insanly long distances on foot, you can sprint but stamina recharges only when you're standing still, so no point of using it at some point. They removed vehicles because there was no possibility to avoid anomalies when driving at high speed [ however I see many ways to get rid of issue, -remove anomalies from main roads, or get some anomalie detectors to buy for vehicles but it seems GSC didnt' thought about it]).

They played it on PIV 1Gb 7900 and it run very well @ high, x-ray (game engine is very scalable since you can run it basiclly on gf3 machine and it will be still playable (in dx8 mode).

You can interact with other stalkers, trade, sneak, basiclly You can do most of things they announced years ago.

MP mode is pretty basic, 3 modes, DM, TDM and Artifact Hunt (CTF).

Visuals are stunning, don't have to tell this to those who played recently released official MP Closed Beta, basiclly everything you might expect from dx9 powered game, parralax, normal, hdr, bloom, GI, 1 000 000 tris per frame (thanks to deferred shading), EVERY objects casts dynamic softshadows (especially good looking during the storm or when using flashlight).

    The final rating was 8/10.

Note: The version they played was not 100% finished however THQ pushed GSC with release and they will propably fix few aspects of game via patches after release.

PCGamer's review states that it's very very good, the missing features are disappointing but pretty much inevitable considering how much ambition the original scope was. There are a few bugs, but nothing too drastic, like the game might crash after loading a level but it autosaves before anyway so it's not such a big deal.

So yeah, thumbs up by the looks of things, if anyone plays it early on, be sure to let us know what your thoughts are
