    Hi there,

I'm finally rebuilding an all-new version of my CS map "de_museum" for CS:Source. Check out screens and info on my blog: http://%7boption%7d

The main skeletons, the T. rex and Brachiosaurus, are finished. These are the bomb targets. And yes, the bones go flying when they explode.

Note that the T. rex pics are just for the model--the room is not finished or textured.

BTW, amazing maps on this site. I've got a big ego, but I gotta say seeing some of your stuff humbles me up real quick.

First picture showed promise but the 2nd picture lacks anything "wow"

Great to see this coming to Source. The original was visually one of the best CS maps. I loved the clean style of the the 1.6 version, and the level of polish it had. Things are obviously very early, but I have no doubt that it will look excellent when finished.

The original of this map was one of the first custom maps I played and thus one of the maps that inspired me to become a mapper. I used to ghost around the CS mapping forums and remember downloading it and being wowed. A Source version is excellent news. Looks like a great start

first screenshot looks promising. the second one is too blocky, boring texture, monotone lighting etc.

i hope you take your time to finish this map. de_museum was an awesome map back in the old days

I swear this must be why valve uses orange textures...so people KNOW when a level is not textured. I'd use the orange nasty but it's hard for me to visualize the space when it's so far from the base tones I'm gonna use. And I suppose even then people would say "boring textures...I don't like the orange!" lol

Again...the brach room is about 80% done so gives you an idea of what the map will look like. The T. rex not at all. Just wanted you to see that model. Check out my site for more screens.

    Thanks!

That first screen has got some good potential. It'll be nice to be blowing skeletons up for a change....

Sweet - I remember coming across your website before, when you released the original de_museum! Stoked to see what you can cook up in Source!

actually no, but if your screenshots are so heavily WIP then why do you post them?

Sounds cool, I had a lot of fun on de_museum back in the old days. Was it not in one of the CSC mappacks or something?

Anyways as the others have said there is a huge quality difference between your two shots.

Wow.. I can still remember the release of de_museum. IMO one of the best custums for cs. It's very nice to hear you're busy on a sourceversion! I can see you're pretty much on the good track according to your screens.

relax.. the point in posting wip is to get feedback and not bashing i think its got potential. it doesnt look too exciting atm, some textures look rather poor and lighting needs to be tweaked. but it certainly already catches that imposing historical museum look.

im curious if you are gonna texture the skeletons properly or if they are going to keep this generic texturing.

hope to see new screenshots soon

    actually no, ...

wait what ... you r saying you "dont" have a huge banjo ? and you arent skilled with it ???

making that skeleton must have taken some time i made a t-rex skeleton once and my refs where really shitty so for me it seamed to take forever.
