like I said, I sure hope it's an old beta.

I actually met with the current brand assistant on Stalker (for the US) last week and he said the more "open" multiplayer beta is not active yet...so if ou played a demo it's probably the old crappy one from 2 years ago. From what I've seen of the new one it looks good, but haven't played it yet.

I got a key for the MP beta, so once I get in I'll try it out. I still have faith there is a good product in this thing...

Games are sometimes (often?) horrible to play until the last months before the release. If the leaked version is ancient then it's not really going to be worth looking at to determine whether the final product will be any good. It's amazing what a few months -- let alone a year or two-- can do to a game; verything can come together in the most remarkable way. Or maybe it can't. Let's find out when it's released
