    Kids copy behaviour from TV and throw away their identity to become Sarah Jessica Parker. They are all brainwashed if they think she is hot.

    Just look at what MTV did to our cities, all these rapper gangstas populating our streets. It is refreshing to see that Steppenwolf has the power to look thru all the fake bullshit that kids think they are these days.

    If MTV or Sex in the City made people act like that, then video games and movies make people into killers.

    I refuse to accept that line of logic. People have free will. They choose to behave how they want to behave. If they choose to behave like morons, that is on them and their parents for raising them like that.

    They choose to behave how they want, but the tv shows influence how ppl want to behave. Same thing with commercials. TV shows are giant commercials of lifestyle (not all of them ofcourse).

    There is a diffrence between games and tv. Games are fake, tv is believably real. Nobody can convince even the dumbest kid that doom is real. But you watch tv for the purpose of escaping reality into a believable reality that you are fascinated by. I doubt there is a single person who has the lead farcry character as idol, but at the same time there are hundreds of millions who have Jlo as their great idol. Its because there is a humongous difference between polygons and flesh & blood.

    Without TV most people in europe wouldn't even know that "nigga gangsta rappers" exist. With this in mind its very logical to believe that TV gave them the inspiration to act like that.

    theres no right answer, there just has to be a balance. you cant have porn playing on day time public television just like you cant expect everyone to watch informational documentaries. it's a little common sense and a little preventative care.

    i dont know if i can really form an opinion here as ive never actually seen the show, though i think its sort of inappropriate for little kids to watch, which means it would make sense to put it on at a later time. i also believe heavily that its the parents responsibility to control what their children do/watch/learn etc, however that doesnt mean that all parents accept this responsibility. most parents will be making dinner while the kid is in the living room watching whatever they want to watch. the most logical thing would be to put the show on at a later time, but thats up to the network.

    Sorry Peris but i can't see what the normal conflicts between generations have to do with this big huge criminal hip hop gangsta bullshit movement. Its so out of scale. It has not only to do with music and clothing. There is a uncivilized, inhumane way of thinking behind this gangsta shit. In former generations violent subcultures were a problem of a minority. Today it has become a problem of the mainstream. The media can be blamed to have at least a partly responsibility for this development.
