That looks fucking awesome!
btw. it's all ingame video.

Yeah, this is the 2fort map in the video!

I get a 404- Not Found

Oh fucking hell. That looks awesome, and I love the campy style they've got going on. I really hope they get the marketing right to lure in the masses though since quirky, stylish graphics can work against a game.
I'm uploading a mirror to YouTube now (along with dozens of other people most probably) since a big wmv is a bit bulky for quickly showing to friends so I'll post a link when it's done.

Wow that looks awesome. I can't wait to play this. Thanks for the mirrors by the way.

That was so scripted, it actually hurt to watch. Was expecting gameplay video not that.
Still now amazed by it yet.
-
it's not even scripted it's prerendered

-
No it isn't Koko, those are the cinematic Source effects (colour correction, motion blur, depth of field, film grain) that were unveiled/demonstrated a few months ago and as of yet haven't appeared in any games, with the exception of the film grain that is now in DOD:S. Scripted as fuck, but still in-engine.
But yeah, I guess a gameplay video would have been nice but this is still some damn good advertising. It's also important to remember that this is 2006 and it's been a long time since the last TF game, so there's lots of people out there who've simply never played one.
Yeah it sounds insane, but it's true. You show all the guys who were 8-10 when TFC came out but are now 14-16 a bunch of clips of TF in action and they'd be 100% confused, so this video introduces them to the roles available in the game quite nicely. Hopefully Valve will be smart and follow it up with gameplay footage before long though.
I really enjoyed the scripting though. Valve are truly awesome at doing traditional cinematic type stuff, but since they've got a tradition of making their games 100% from the eyes of the player you don't get to see it very often. It's nice to have them show it off in trailers.
-
They've nailed the style for sure. Really cool stuff

-
Nice show off of the cineamatic effects, but i want gameplay damnit. I want to see what the levels are going to look like and how palyer movement looks.
-
Depth of Field and Motion Blur can't be done in Source at realtime, the previous DoDS video that had them had it and iirc it rendered at 1 frame every 1-5 seconds.
So it just lost a bit of its prettyness, the style looks excellent I'll admit however. I don't know how it will look with multiples of these very heavily stylised characters running around, they look great by themselves but with 8 of them onscreen I think it will loose the wow.

Your negativity/pessimism in forum posts amazes me everytime.
Valve reps. said that all the animations (including facial animations) are used in real INGAME, except Spy's animation which is still "under construction". Everything you see in that trailer is INGAME excluding the post-processing filters like dof and motion blur. Valve is actually working on these too so they can bring it to current gen gpu's and processors. I don't understand how you can say it's scripted?
Btw, when has Valve actually made a trailer/teaser for a big scale game that shows the "real gameplay" from first person view? Valve is doing cinematic trailers and they're doing pretty damn good work on them too.
Can't complain.

Er, not to be a party pooper but remember the HL2 teasers which featured the combine kickin' in the door wavin' the 44 and the strider ducking under the arch?
Both were claimed to be realtime and unscripted, but it was later proved to be false. I'm not saying anything in this video is scripted, but I don't see how you can definitely claim there's no possibility of it. -
Anyway, as a medic, when you'll do a conc jump above the top ramp to the flagroom, will you care to see the facial animations of the sollys ? I don't even look at them goddamit §!!§

I dunno, but liked the grinning HW.
