After last month's great entries I've decided to make this a monthly contest. This month's contest we've refined the rules, refined the specifics and that should help streamline things a bit after some confusions last month.

Without any further adeiu, the specifics:

    THIS MONTH'S MODELLING TOPIC: MINI-MONSTERS

Make a wee beastie of any sort and show us your creature crafting capabilities.

    Max Polycount: 250

    Max Texture Size: 128x128

Please post your name, polycount, and the texture flats all within your final render. Please make clean renders, no funny backgrounds or anything.

    1 entry per person

10 final entries will be chosen by Pericolos and myself.

Final date for June Contest entries is: JUNE 24th

Voting will be carried out on the 25th through the end of the month and a winner will be crowned (and maybe I'll come up with a prize!).

    Alright Mapcore, let's get modellin'!

The challenge is in making pretty with such a low count! Get creative, Koko! I know you can do awesome stuff

still this totally low poly thing, i don't like it too much. hope the next contest has higher specs. im not talking about hl2 or whatever current gen, but at least hl1. i have huuuge respect for people that can make something as amazing as peris posted, but thats not your average mapcore user

you gotta be really skilled to make something nice out of such looooow specs and I think most people (but on the other hand maybe i'm only refering to myself ) would come up with something much nicer if you guys would go a bit higher with the specs on the next months contest, to give people a bit more freedom

it's challenging and all to work with such low specs but on the other hand, to be quite honest i find it boring to make contest after contest in such a scheme.

anyways, wish all the contestants good luck everyone with this months contest. go get your hands dirty \o/

    Sweet skdr!

    Hahhah skdr

    That's brilliant.

About the polycount and texture size. I think they're just fine.

If you increase polycount and uvmap size too much, it will lead

to increased development time and probably less entries.

I made a zeppelin for the May modelling contest but didn't have time to

skin it . I may try and complete something this month.

Idea: If this becomes a monthly thing, wouldn't it be cool if the

winner could pick the next months modelling theme?

Buh, so simple and boring.. at least i am participating. Good practising tho.

I'll make one arm broken and come up with something on the other hand, it's some kind of a zombie i believe.
