    Hello!

Here is a little country map I'm making, the action occurs in an old abandonned factory.

Very nice! Reminds me of de_airstrip for 1.6 for some reason, must be because of the colors/lighting.

Anyway, nicely detailed and I love the "overgrown" look.

Looks really promising. I also like the 3D-skybox which fits in well and adds to the atmosphere. Maybe you have to have a look at some darker spots, since darkness could be a problem in games like CS:S...

Do you have a layout overview?

Looks good, but in some places it more looks like an industrial themed map rather than a country map.

Its the fences with jungly trees behind them, and the grass with plants

Yeah it reminded me of an abandoned insane asylum on some shots, with those tiled floors and that windowed hallway.

Anyways it looks as its set in the outskits of a jungle, so i wouldnt call it farm. Even tho technically it can be a farm in the jungle, most ppl think of farms as those cowmilking farms with haystacks in an open field.

It looks like an abandoned south american villa with a built on drugslaboratory.

I like it alot. The lightning makes it look so fresh. The brushwork is solid and looks realistic, but yeah, for css maybe its a bit too dark in those shadowed areas. You really captured the feeling of an overgrown building in the forest. Id like to see more details indoor though. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your comments guys! Glad you like the map

    For Magikus and Oski:

Ahh i like thoses kind of comments, yea i'm planning to add some lights in the shadowed areas.

And no i dont have the layout, the map is completely improvised (so maybe the gameplay will be... ^^)

    In the jungle??

Well why not, but I was more thinking about the french "campagne" (dont know if country is the good word, i tough it was meaning -> campagne).

    A bit like this:

(this is called: Ardeche, and it's somewhere in france)

how about a pic of that giant tree? I can see only a small part of it in some shots. Maybe put some more of those around the map?

You have something with trees no?

Ok I will add more screens but later, the area behind this tree is not done yet.

Very nice sir. This map would benefit a lot from custom content though, have you always thought of making them yourself or getting someone to make them for you ?

Maybe replacing the most obvious stuff ? (the grass texture, the van and the plaster wall for example)

The shadows also look too dark, I like them but players won't. But it's just a matter of taste I guess.

Why not for the textures (but i doubt I will make them), but I think the old HL2 models will stay as the map generally become too heavy when it has custom models (so players will play my map on internet, yes i'm sure they will).

    For Polaris

Well no it's more like a french campagne instead of a col...hmm ok its columbian

Trees can be very important. The small trees you have now look more like radioactive swamp plants
