if you are that concerned about it, there are guides on the net as to how to remove it once you get tired of playing.
Trackmania Nations - get your track creation on.

oh steppenwolf, the best part is how the company responds to those accusations.. I've been boycotting StarForce for some time now.

What is starforce actually protecting in a free game? Is the games code uncompiled and locked by starforce or something? Sounds so crazy.

I believe you haven't understand it. Starforce is installed independedent from the game. It runs always when you start windows and has impact on all games that you play. And it remains in your system even after you deinstalled Trackmania.
QuoteWhat is Starforce?Starforce is a software copy protection tool installed by PC game publishers, which is designed to prevent the casual copying of retail CDROM applications. It installs as a hidden device driver, without the end-user's knowledge or consent.
Why are we boycotting it?
Starforce has received criticism for installing its own device driver onto computers. The Starforce drivers are often linked to system instability and computer crashes. If these problems occur, the end-user would be unware as to the cause of the problem, and would be helpless to solve the problem.
For example, here's one of the common problems brought by Starforce: under Windows XP, if packets are lost during the reading or writing of a disk, XP interprets this as an error and steps the IDE speed down. Eventually it will revert to 16bit compatibility mode rendering a CD/DVD writer virtually unusable. In some circumstances certain drives cannot cope with this mode and it results in physical hardware failure (Most commonly in multiformat CD/DVD writer drives). A sure sign of this step down occurring is that the burn speeds will get slower and slower (no matter what speed you select to burn at). Starforce, on a regular basis, triggers this silent step down. Until it reaches the latter stages most people do not even realise it is happening.

starforce = malware. The company thinks that anyone who is having problems with StarForce are "low-level beginner hackers who try to get around our system" and refuses to even respond to the acusations with something other than childish name calling and lawsuits. What they dont realize is that everyone who is complaining are the legal owners, because the "hackers" have access to a free version that does not have the malware, so why would they complain?
SecuRom FTW.

Malware such as Starforce is for sure to be avoided at all cost. I strongly support boycotting games with it.
-
how the hell can they even get away with something like that? its time governments start putting up laws for these kind of things. my god whats next after this?

I understand perfectly, all you have to do is google starforce and there are plenty of guides and utilities you can download to remove starforce from your system.
so far I haven't had any problems, or talked to anyone who has.

if you have trackmania sunrise (thanks crazymac!!!) you can enter the key at the trackmania nations site and then other people will see your car skins and avatar. I'm painting a super cool car in ps with chipped off paint at the edges and scratches everywhere
. Will show laterWhat DDS settings do you use to export it? I tried and trackmania kept saying I had no mipmaps even when I did.

nice, the thread is about trackmania again, and not about starforce!

nice looking map!

nice looking track kami. i'll have to try it out in a minute.
i tried doing this a while back with the first trackmania, did a little bit, but never got into the track editor overly much. then i saw this thread and that nations was free.. oh that is awesome. so i made one this morning.
my best so far is .. something just under 2 minutes. it takes forever to get through this track. it's not visually impressive, but i think it's fun to play. the goal was to strain your driving skills, not jumping skills, though there are a few jumps to keep your attention.
