And we all know how the Muslims and Islamic people react when someone goes up agaist their belives, even I, who haven't been interessted in politics for more than a year knows that burning flags, threats and suchs is a "common" thing in the middle east.

Its ok for them to make toons about us, burn our flags and stuff, but we cant make a toon about them? Kinda hypocrite isnt it.

You keep saying we broke their most holy rule, but there is no rule in their books that forbids us anything. Its written for muslims, their rules dont apply to infidels.

Btw, a ME paper has also published the toons now, saying muslims should be reasonable, not hypocrite. Congratulations Jordan

RD, its not ok, but you know how they are. They don't have the same culture as us, but since we are so god damn "perfect" we should be able to raise above them and press our big "IGNORE" button.

Thats in the comments section where all ppl can comment. Besides, you already know how we all feel when jesus is blasphemized in the middle east. It happens daily, nobody is bothered by it.

Stolve these carricatures are satire. This is part of OUR culture and freedom of speech. There shouldn't be much taboos in satire. And honestly i have never seen good satire that was respectful against the people who are carricatured!

I don't give a fuck about some radical muslims who want to change my behaviour and our culture. It's not our fault that they have a silly law in their close minded religion that forbids them to draw mohamad.

I could count millions of things in the world that are worse then drawing a prophet from a different religion from a objective point of view.

I have seen the carricatures. What is wrong about a mohamed with a bomb as his head? This is a very fine carricature in the context of all the terrorist stuff that is done in the name of Allah. You just shouldn't take it out of context. But thats what they do!

By the way we do every day things that are against the law of islam like eating pork, cleaning our ass with the right hand etc. Does anyone care except the radical muslims who think we are the evil in person? And should WE care???

Yeah, and what I see is mostly insulting of jews and israel, which is NOT a western country. I find none of them insulting in any way, but I understand how maybe some Americans might be.

But they aren't really a factor here, cause none of you knew about them, nor cared about them until 'wolf posted them.

Are you insulted by them RD? In which way?

They just show that these muslims are not better then the people they are critisize. And seriously all these protests n stuff are absolutely out of scale. I wonder where is the big outcry in the islamic world when people kill innocents in the name of allah. Isn't this much much worse??

And we kill people in the name of globalization and economic resources like oil under the guise of "spreading liberty." Killing in any case is fucking ridiculous unless there's a very good reason for it. Religion and profits aren't good reasons.

We're getting off on a tangent of "who's at fault?" No one is. It's much ado about nothing. If anything this should've gone as far as a simple, polite, hollow apology from the newspaper or at most, the country and that's that. Everything's settled. No one loses face and it drops out of the headlines.

And the next week it starts all over again. What a solution.

Unlike you i think muslims have the brainpower to grow used to this kind of stuff.

I don't kill people in the name of globalization or for ressources

I critisize that the same way as i critisize islamic fascism.

To bring a new thought to this discussion: Our western laws protects minorities against the majority. But what many forget is that it also protects the majority against minorities. A law that is made by a minority doesn't assert for the majority especialy not silly ones.

Islamic laws dont assert for non-muslims. A muslim may be feel violatet in his world views when he sees a carricature of mohammed. I find that silly. A nazi may feel the same way as the muslim when he sees a black guy kissing a white girl. Should we ban pics of blacks kissing whites now from our media because some radical Nazis feel harmed by it and want to kill us for that?

Wrong. It blends absolutely with the argument since fundamental islamism and nationalsocialism have much in common.

The reason we have freedom of press is that evrybody can make up his own opinion without being brainwashed by one viewpoint, which is what happens in the middle east. The danish goverment doesnt control the media like theyre told, and the paper already apologized days ago , like they arent told. Theyre outraged by drawings they have never seen

Its hypocrit pretending to be religiously insulted and then screw your own religion by becoming a violent neanderthal. If that happens and there is some kind of terrorist attack, it quite literally proves the drawings to be true. If muslims in europe have a problem with it, take it to the court. Or go back to the dictatorship

By likening yourself with the movement of globalization and saying that you personally had nothing to do with anything about it nor did you kill anyone in the name of it you essentially made the argument that in the Islamic states everyone is a killer, has killed and will kill again. That's simply incorrect.

    Quote from Steppenwolf

    islamofascism != historic fascism !

Seeing as Islamofascism is a fucking made-up word by the Bush administration and has nothing to do with fascism you're absolutely right, it's not fascism. However, it's not fascism at all. Fascism is where the state is the religion, corporatism is the economic structure and most fascist states are secular.

    Quote from Steppenwolf

Wrong. It blends absolutely with the argument since fundamental islamism and nationalsocialism have much in common.

Besides their mutual loathing of Jews (although arguably for completely different reasons) they have little in common. The National Socialist Worker's Party rose to power on the weakness of an economically crippled state after the Treaty of Versailles. Theirs was a mixed form of corporatism and state-run industr. It modernized, secularized and also institutionalized it's party philosophy of racial hatred in the form of uniformed troops and community activities.

The Islamic states want only Sharia (Islamic law) instated in their states. They have no economic philosophy that binds them. They're certainly not modernizing, secularizing or putting their troops in snappy new uniforms. They don't have any sort of community outing "volks" style camps or sporting activities (unless you count soccer, but even there they have no unified structure and play against each other with the same fervor).

They're not the same. What-so-ever. Raising Nazis is, was, and always will be the argumentative tactic of the weak unless the compared group is actually waving red, white and black swaztika banners and goosestepping to Wagner.

The state of Israel is a western country, a part from any opinions you might have. Do your homework.

This whole situation makes me sick. At the time the twintowers collapsed, muslims all over the world were celebrating. Palestinians were giving away free cakes, Dutch muslims were openly supporting this act of terror.

Muslim states are openly offending western countries and arabic newspapers are full of offending cartoons of our western culture. Every day...

Yet now, in a local newspaper, a seemingly offending cartoon has been published and we have to offer our apologies? We have to offer our apologies? In our house? This is so wrong...

I say: GTFO and take bombhead with you.

Look at the islamic states how they are organized, dictatures, national proud, religious proud, hate against everything that is different then themselves. This is very fascist to me.

The word fascism must not be used of the context its origin. Everything that has things in common with it can be called fascist if you didnt know that. Even the soviet communism in the former ussr had things in common with fascist ideas.

you know little about national socialism. If you didnt know Hitler and especialy Himmler were about to form a new kind of national religion based on old germanic myths etc.

Open your eyes if you dont see similaritys between the islamic world and national socialist/fascist regimes. You argue about word definitions etc but what counts is how people are tretened and how people are treatend who think different
