I made it and I say it’s a tech crate so it’s a tech crate. In fact its sooo tech that people often get confused by it for a container (ppl can be so silly) when its really only their inferior intellectual minds that limit them from comprehending the far more advanced design of this tech crate.... /me crawls back to my hole

Hi, I know this is a tech crate thingy but I just wanted to give it a go - this is my very first texture eva! I think it sucks a bit... What do you ppl think? Anyway, sozy cos it does not look "tech" n00b me

You could try and make the design more interesting..add more variety to it. Not bad for a very first texture though... way better than my first...

I like vodkas, I think it's totally tech. Who says tech has to be clean and shiny?

the color usage is ... interesting... you have the right idea i think you're just doing too much of it

    too much red.

too much crusty shit --- try erasing bits of it out...

too much bevel shadow (it doesn't even look quite right)

    but its... interesting

I think I did a kinda useable one

Atleast I think its the best texture I've made..

    [Blocked Image: http://www.st0lve.net/textures/techcrate1.jpg]

    Its not that "techy" though

I'll maybe make another "content" (like replace the blue with something)

st0lve thats much better than any other work ive seen from. Good to see its not a black box. The edges on the gray bits look funny though. The bevel effect you've tried to achieve is a big weird. I'd suggest looking at zilla's crate for the first crate contest to give you a good idea of how it should be applied. You could add more colours to it as well. But its definitely a step forward for you so well done
