    If you say so.

Does look good, however. Some Jack Bauer style 'living on the edge'.

Haha thats cool. I just wonder if they can squeeze more juice outta it after this one, they lost me at Splinter Cell 2, although I have considered trying the third one.

mazzle, two is shit compared to three. granted there is a little bit of story that carries over from two into three, but if you didnt finish or never even played 2, you can still play 3 and love it. Three is by far the best of the series.

Even if you are just thinking about trying 3, do it. Its fuckin' amazing!

If I told you that I worked on the 3rd Splinter Cell, can I be your hero?

Ok.. perhaps not.. but although I'm not involved on the 4th one, I am interested in seeing what they pull off with this one.

After SC 1 I have been done with the games, it was ok, but it wasn't THAT good. Watched my cousing play the Pandora Tomorrow and thought meh.

It's like WW2 games, you can only do so many interesting games, but eventually, you are running cicrles.

They should wait for some time before making a new version of the game, let other bring new ideas to the genre and then, top everything off, just like what the first one did.

Pandora Tomorrow multiplayer was something real special and has to be played between 4 reasonably experienced players to get the most out of, though it's single player campaign never really lived up to the first game in my opinion. I've yet to play Chaos Theory, but as it's only £5 in Game's deal of the day today, I may take advantage. New one certainly sounds interesting - they needed to do something different really and this sounds like one way to go about it. Does sound a bit Jack Bauer, but I doubt that is a bad thing

Honestly I loved Pandora Tomorrow...just as much as i loved the first Splinter Cell.

But the good news ends there...i have yet to play Chaos Theory!!! (Only played the first level...er...the demo) Been so busy I haven't had time to get through a lot of games. I'm only now getting through God of War (which forced me to dust off the PS2)

I think over the holidays I will finish Chaos Theory on the ol Xbox just so I can stay up to speed with the series before I get to Double Agent...when that's eventually released in 06.

Why do I share all this story? Because Splinter Cell owns. yeah, maybe some people are getting tired of it, but not me. I should have finished CT months ago but RL got in the way (barely played any games for a while).

    ....

So as far as Sam Fisher going a little Jack Bauer, I say good times. 24 OWNS!!! I love the Jack Bauer type of character.

Saw about the second half of the trailer at work... looks really cool.

Beat the first, demo'd the second, and about halfway on the third before my xbox kersploded. CT was great though.

Ok so before you kick me in the balls, I know this is a mother of a bump but I did a quick search and this came up as being the newest thread for SC:DA.

So I finally bought the game after seeing it for 15 quid in my local (and lame) game shop (side note: I tried to buy GRAW too but they only had the case, not the disc, this is the same shop that had the disc but not the case for Doom 3 <_<). I haven't played a Ubisoft game in like, ages, and I really loved the first splinter cell but not so much PT and never bothered with CT based solely on how weak PT was.

    /rambling

After freeing up 10 gigs (10!!) so I could install the game I loaded it up, and that's where the problems started. The training mission bugged out on me, the loading got stuck in a loop and the graphics glitched. A quick restart of the game and things seemed to work a little better.

The game is really really awesome (if you can look past the slightly random storyline), so many nice new features and improvements on the Fisher character. Some of the shaders and particles seemed to give my PC a really hard time though, the snow and smoke is a real killer but luckily I got past the snow level pretty quickly.

Then it started to seem like the port from console to PC had gone badly, cracking safes for instance relies heavily on the analogue stick of the 360, but using the WASD keys (and the mouse wheel to control your speed) seems to make for a really buggy system when it comes to the safes. I get repeatedly stuck in places because the game requires you to do something with a safe (or some other analogue task) and you can't do it!

I heard that the port was handed over to some other branch of ubisoft in asia, I don't know if this is true but they did a really horrible hack job of it.

Has anyone else experienced these problems, has anyone else found any solutions? Has anyone had experience of game ports (from console to PC or vice versa) turning the game into a buggy pile of crap or is this a lone incident? (I get the feeling it isn't )

I'm just interested to know how the whole porting thing works, if there's any other cases of this kind of thing happening to any of you or your companies, and why do developers let ports go out, apparently, untested?
