This is my second attempt ever at any kind of layout. This is for my portfolio, right now just showing the main page. Any suggestions/crits/comments are welcome.
Also, if you have any suggestions on how the map gallery would be layed out, I'd like to hear...err, read it 
I made this with "simple" in mind.

take out the friends section. If you havn't already head over to the classified section and read up on good portfolio sites. Otherwise looks clean .I'd have to see how the pictures of your work would affect it though.
looks great, i would take out friends, but if u need it change it to affilates, but really, its not needed.
maybe make it less bold, like make a link elsewhere on the portfolio MAYBE. Hoenstly though its not about competition, its about selling yourself (thx klein).
if you have some sort of agreenment with the guys which you link to, that they must have a link to your site just as openly, id go for it... The more ways to your site the better
