It rocks. I even got my first informative on the Shack for my thoughts on it. http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?comments=38989

Basically, Peter Jackson gets involved in Kong game. He liked Beyond Good and Evil. He hand-picks Michel Ancel & co. to do the game, along with Ubi Montreal. Game is mix of first-person mayhem (as the human) and third person beat-em-up (as Kong). A movie tie-in well worth your time.

wow.. must've been the shortest demo i've ever played. controls and camera havent been put into practice well (at least that was my first impression). grafics and atmosphere are awesome though.

I dunno. I just didn't like it. It didn't appeal to me at all, perhaps it's cause I wasn't a fan of the movie (Well, the genre of it). I'm glad it included some mindwork rather than straight combat.

Kong was all about the dinosaurs on the island. Peter Jackson can just afford to put more of them in now, since he's not working with a $3 budget and stop motion for multiple characters http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=10874198 for some links to shots.

I didn't really like it =/ I didn't like the controls on kong, I didn't like the "cinematic" feel of it. Hiding from the trex was kinda boring all together, go here, shoot here, hide here, run here, ect ect ect. I would've liked more integration and knowing somehow my ammo health, ect.

I was playing it earlier, it was pretty cool, there's nothing like beating the shit out of dinosaurs, but it was kind of boring. It was very linear, you had to go through the door, to the end, jump, swing etc, there was only one way and there was nooo leeway, nor much ability to go wrong. there is a large lack in stuff you can do, it seems like you just walk up to crap and beat the shit out of it, which gets boring. the first person part was sort of dumb too, i get a gun and my mission? run in circles while being chased by a 3 story dinosaur so two guys can open a door. it was just meh, the graphics were cool, mainly because of the after effects, but the gameplay didn't really impress me much, not to mention that te installer is fucked up, both of the ones i downloaded were iffy. and on top of even that, when i did the first person part i kept drifting my aim to the right constantly for no reason.

It didn't really feel as if I waws in control as Kong, which was quite annoying. It just bounced me from one bit to the next, I mashed some mouse button and that was that. TOok me all of tne mins to play through both segments (mostly because of the horrid controls when you're Jack). It was kinda cool, but very short lived and with little of the interactivity or freedom that I associate with games.

hehe when I've played the fps mission the first time, the t-rex ate me. there was a hint after I died and it said something like "use the food chain"

so when i played it again i killed the flying dino with the spear and voila the t-rex ate it

ah by the way, why doesn't Jack Black (the camera guy) say anything? I hope the final game will have the original voice of him.

I thought it was total garbage... something about the FOV appearing to constantly being changed while looking around, and the view bob almost gave me motion sickness. All of the textures were blurred and the animations were really bad. For some great idea, hitting E to grab a spear shifted the view over to some dumbass who started yelling at me about something I couldn't care less about. By the time I went back to "myself" I was eaten by the T-Rex. I pretty much gave up at that point.

I'd just like to congratulate you for phrasing that correctly. It's sad that so few of us are capable of that and it bugs me to no end...
