The detail props going through brushes, overbended roofs and the missing texture alignment on the wall in the back are all annoying to look at:/

It's impossible to fix that all

Let's be honest, it is better looking than what a big part of our "moaners" here would be able to pull off.

And everything you just described are mappers mistakes that has nothing to do with the overall quality of the mod itself.

Not everything. The bendy roofs are fucking awesome since not every roof has to be perfectly flat and straight.

I fucking jizz when I see roofs that sag. That shows that the mapper cares about the ambience, and thats just swag.

There is a video interview with Gabe Newell about next gen and Steam and stuff like that. It also shows few seconds of DoD: Source gameplay. Ironsights and rifle grenades, check it out:

DoD: Source clip starts at 07:15. I think that's awesome

see all the DoD mappers from the past come out to defend sagging roofs because in original DoD on HL engine it just wasn't practical do that. Displacement maps makes it easier and less taxing on the engine.

Now if only the character models' pants would sag.

ok..well some roofs have been made with displacement maps...at least in the custom dod:s mapping projects i've seen (all unofficial). But whatever, it's a new engine, you can get more detail. So people at Valve got sag happy. good times.

well obviously I didn't know that the roofs in the pictures were not displacement maps.

though I wonder if some components or roofs are displacement maps. muhahahahahaha.

    Anyway...back on topic.

I can't wait to play it.

Does look hot. The ironsights give it a Call of Duty MP flavour. A good thing.

Well, I honestly don't know what you expect from a BDU, guy.

Stuff like the slick-combed hair and the Ace-insignia helmet is all the touches I could hope for.
