    [Blocked Image: http://img346.imageshack.us/img346/234/lightingproblems5xo.jpg]

i could really turn into a killing machine. you see the good and the bad lighting?

i compile my level and play it for the first time. building cubemaps works fine. if i reaload the level the ambientlighting seems to not be present on all dynamics. has anyone had this problem before? i don't know what to do.

I think the "lighting sucks" version looks better actually It actually means the model has shadows. Obviously this is a problem in most situations though, like those plant models.

Yes ive had this problem as well. Usually reloading the map another time seems to fix it, for me at least.

The problem with the lighting after cubemaps are built is due to the 9/23 update. Im getting the exact problem and it started right after that update.. I emailed someone at Valve and they said it would be fixed once Lost Coast is released.

    sounds like some good news

atm i am out of time and motivation. this compiler bug is pain in the ass and i got to different things for my university and me

most of the work that has to be done is modelling. this will still take 1-2 months of intensive work. then a playtest can be planed.

fine to hear, that you guys are still interested.

some other candies(textures and some modelling):

Easily the best project coming out of mapcore in my opinion. Stunning effort and attention to detail by yourself. Only thing I noticed were the window's relfections and the UVW seam on the tree trunk. Otherwise you're truly stunning.

    Indeed nice work.

Peris: You can configure the resolution of the cubemaps in hammer. But huge values can be very expensive as you can imagine.
