have you got an overview, or sketch or something so we can get an idea of the layout?

this is just a small part of the map. layout is far from finished however i allready have the basic layout pretty much in my head. im now just working out these areas until they are what i think they need to be.

all the screens are very very wip so to speak and im working on the things commented, the lighting, more variety etc..

in reply to evert: ill consider making it a bit bigger which i was sortof already thinkinh about cause the outer wall doesnt really seem to go nicely with the inner wal it just doenst feel right to have a nice clean wall against a broken one.

in reply to ferret: sorry but i dont think i get exactly what you try to say maybe you can explain it a bit more?? tnx anyway

Change the environment map. For some reasons valve made high res standard textures, but made all the skies 'low' res. They don't look good when you study them closer.

    I love this map!

In the first shot there isnt much bumpy goodness, too many light sources?

Unless its intended in that case dont listen to me lalalala

Looking pretty good, but its a really boring map colour wise.

Somebody probably already suggested this, but adding some wines or plants to add some variation would help making it less uniform.

Also the lighting seems to be a bit all over the place in some of the shots, a little contrast would help alot.

But apart from that it looks promising.

You should add more of that greenish-blue colour to it coming from the sky or another lightsource... Adds a nice and different atmosphere to the boring brown-yellowish sheme.

Like here but it should be a bit more stronger imo.

Nice work, but like the others say it looks quite similar in all places. Try adding different lighting, different brick types or maybe wood or cellerstone. Some vegitation, dead or alive, would also give it some depth.

I think its hard to make the rooms look not so similar, atleast lighting wise.. its a castle, in the medival times, its not like they had neon lights in different colors...

but you could experiment with the sun shining through different colors of glass or something...
