It's as if you force yourselves to reply or something. Jeez I thought you'd be happy you brought another on board the Firefox crew.. or something to that effect.

It's not that me and my webdesign buddies don't appreciate, it's more like in the lines of "fight against capitalism", we are happy for every convert for standard and secure. But IE grabs mighty 80% or something of the browser market, and with inferior product, it's like everyone driving Ladas instead of Saab.

Yeah but it's not like there's a price break or something. They're both free. It's just that most people don't know any better or care.

Firefox is of course not perfect, I actually hate the in-process deal... if you crash one window you lose them all

If microsoft gave the windows users the choice to install either their web brower or a competitors when you first install windows, I know I'd choose modzilla or another browser. hehe

I just love the tabs in firefox!

It's sad but true, when the fox takes a dive, it's taking all the tabs with him. But atleast it's better than the IE crash where it takes explorer.exe with him, so I'd still lose my tabs than have to restart the explorer.exe. Besides, there is some option to retain the tabs when the fox is closed, why not use that?

I keep my tabs when(if) firefox crashes. Also when I close the window, took some getting used to, but its great.

Yes, extensions are a great part of Firefox. I use a bunch of smaller ones which enhance the experience somewhat.

1) "IE View". Right click a page and select one of the options to open the page in IE. Great for web development or lamely coded sites.

2) "Gmail Notifier". Puts a little icon in the bottom-right corner where the RSS feed icons and such go. Shows you how many unread emails you have, and you can enter gmail itself (auto logged in, of course!) by just clicking the icon. Is visible in this screengrab.

3) "Session Saver .2". The tab restoration utility. Not only will it magically bring back all your tabs after a regular browser shutdown or crash, but it will also restore your scroll position on the page, and any data entered into a form (eg: forum posts). You can also bring back individual tabs after closing them via the tools dropdown.

4) "SubmitToTab". Allows you to middle-click form buttons to open them in a new tab, just like a normal hyperlink. Very useful for certain situations such as vBulletin admin panel usage, where they're used all over the place.

5) "Disable Targets for Downloads". Stops a blank tab from opening when you use certain download links, very useful at times.

6) "Tabbrowser Preferences". Adds some nice functionality to tabs such as per-tab X buttons, forcing of new windows into tabs, etc. Great if you like to keep everything in one window like I do.

That's the Thrik's mighty setup, anyway. All should be available by going to the official extension resource or with a Google. One thing to note; don't install "Tabbrowser Extensions" whatever you do. It is an extremely bloated extension which has tons of unnecessary options, all of which are available with lighter extensions anyway. This extension will slow down your browser a huge deal, both in loading of pages and opening of tabs.

I use all the ones Thrik mentioned, sans 4 and 6.

I think we all use the mighty Adblock.

I also use Download Manager tweak, that give me nice clean downloads sidebar.

And 'Context Search' which lets you right click a word or highlighted phrase and search it in any of the search engines in your search engine thing.

Oh yeh and I have a batch file that deletes amazon search and all that other junk everytime firefox updates.

next image - when youre looking a picture sets or any other set with numbering, you can hold shift and presst right/left to go to the next pic, very handy

clone window - when you press ctrl n the new windows has the same webpage, not the home page

windows update - because im lazy it opens ie and takes me to the webpage

spellbound - its a built in spell checker thats cool

bb tagger - if you right click a picture or link you can click "copy to bb tag" and it adds image or url tags for you, very cool

google toolbar - because google owns

I also just snapped up an extension to open all select links in tabs. called 'openselectedlinks'.

If only there was a way to draw a rectangle over the screen and it would select all links under the rectangle.

there is one in the gooogle bar too, i dunno if i like it that much though

there's a very cool Greasemonkey script that can put a little link next to embedded videos to make it easy to download them. i'm not at home, i'll find the link when i get back in a couple days.
