i like the stuff in the background but the building on the left needs some serious detailing, it's really boxy.

Omai~.
I really like that wooden walkway. So simple, yet so splendid.

I like how that water makes any map look better, and for an already good looking map.. that's pretty good D:
Nice! I like the little trim details and stuffs
-
The last two shots you have posted...
I don't like
But its a wip, so we'll see. -

I can see why you have this structure in the middle, with all the pillars, good ol' mazz0l 2 stories vertical action and I'm sure it enhances the gameplay, but it just...doesn't look right, on the last pic it looks like you made a square and then placed in the middle some kind of 2 storey "thing". I just don't buy it. Keep the structure but change it into something more realistic looking, it doesn't fit the otherwise very feasible urban theme. Make it a bridge which actually connects to something, or add some shops on top and below, or a railroad or you convert it into the building but keep the stories with big windows... Maybe you can also get hold of some better looking pillars.
Rest looks beautiful

Well, thing is that its meant to be this kiosk/cafe, placed up there to so that people go enjoy the view
~Its far out, I know, when everything else looks so normal it will stand out, and it is purely for gameplay matters that it is there. The first draft of the area also had the stairs going up, but without the structure above it, and it looked so utterly dull. Ever since I added that structure the map has gotten a style of its own in my opinion, and I therefore do not intend on deleting it at this point. To be honest then Im quite surprised that so many hate it.
Also regarding its rather lowpoly appearance, then its because the map is getting kinda heavy as it is. When I did the structure I hadnt even compiled it once, and thus didnt even have any idea of how it was gonna run. At this point I'll probably have to change most of the area if I want some round pillars and more complex architecture on it.
I just think Im on a different page than you guys, or you got a different impression that I wanted to send. I see this almost as a Quake 3 DM map, instead of something realistic, although Im obviously aiming for realism with the visuals. But I'll spare you from adding jumppads

i like it mazy

Maybe it just looks odd on the few pics you posted and more natural in game, also I agree that it sets the looks apart from other c17 themed levels and I'm not saying you should remove it, just change it a little. The kiosk is fine, but why would someone build a kiosk in a two storeys structure when there is nothing in the first storey agahdahfs I don't know, the thing looks artificial, all I'm saying

A cafe with a nice terrace, chairs, tables, a few trees would be cool by the way.
-
that building might "work" there if it stands on a sidewalked ground... now it looks like its just "planted" there for no reason.

Actually its already up on a sidewalk, but I know what you mean, ill try adding some stuff around its base

My main problem with that area and the weird structure is that it looks a wee bit cramped for DM.
-
i think the structure would fit in completely and utterly perfect if it had some more open space around it. Now it becums a bit mazy
-
If it is infact planted alraedy on a sidewalk, perhaps change the texture to be a lighter hue to make it stand out more. If you widen the area aruond it (probably hard considernig the ammount of work already invested on its sorroudnigns) I suggest the kiosk's ground a lighter hue will attract as an area to go to by players subtley.
if I make no sense, I had nos leep last night!
