    LOL A CRATE.

Knocked this up in 5 minutes as a test for my first UV map ever with Max, but it's cartoony enough to be here.

Now to add a little certain something for OL's crate contest.

Excellent stuff mikezilla. I feel this texture is VERY promising, but it needs a few adjustments here and there to really come into its own.

Too distorted? More like too shit. I suck at 2d art, and I've only just started to get to grips with PS and a tablet.

We'll see where I go from here though.

    Here is something very stylised.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/images/water.jpg]

Tiles like there is no tomorrow! But I am very happy with it.

Here is some stuff I am very pleased with myself.

Cartoony/stylised doesn't have to abandon all realism, something which you see carried out so well in World of Warcraft. I think these buckets succeeded in having a nice handpainted feel to them, without completely loosing touch with reality.

Sorry for going so much over board, but this is the area of texturing I love the most. Can't help myself!

Two different colour variations on the same texture and geometry.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/hut1colorvar.jpg]

Again, two different colour variations on the same texture and geometry.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/images/shield.jpg]

This is a bark texture, which I am very happy for. It took ages to get it to tile right, without looking too bland and unpainterly.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/fir2bark.jpg]

That bark texture is used as the foundation for stuff like this for example.

    I will stop now!

Oh yeah, all the textures are of course hand painted.

Superthanks Mazy. I am humbled to hear such words in such an esteemed community.

Do me a favour, tell that to my buddy Thomas Howalt as well!

Okay, okay. It is just that I have like thousands of these textures. Okay, maybe not that many, but A LOT! So I don't want to tire people of the same stuff over and over again. When the talk is back to that grungy Quake/Doom look, I will have very little to say. And at any rate it is better to have people wanting to see your toe than your heel.

Then push the rusty quake stuff to the background with more cool cartoony stuff please
