AVG versus Norton?

    Can i have both AVG and Norton installed?

    I'm trying to get my friend's computer totally free from everything.

    I have run HiJackThis and fixed everything.

    I have run Norton, but it says i have nothing.

    Yet i found a backdoor.

    AND a virus they have in their own database! But at least they had information on how to remove it. ( http://%7boption%7d )

    I also found several spyware even when Spybot-Search&Destroy says i have none.

    I run Adaware and found only cookies.

    Now i have ZoneAlarm (works good so far)

    Norton Symantec Antivirus (don't know if it works at all?)

    HiJackThis.

    Adaware.

    Spybot-Search&Destroy.

    Do i really need more software to polute the computer if i want to be sure to get rid of all virus and stuff?

    Anyway back to topic, can i have both AVG and Norton installed?

    but it might be a problem.

    because they might interprete eachothers actions.

    as being those of a virus.

    but its really not necessary.

    if you keep norton updated.

    to have any other antivirus.
