Special thanks to a couple members of this community who's documentation and/or support was of great help: @will2k, @Yanzl, @Squad, @[HP] - and of course an extra special thanks to the staff for running this joint.

This map was a first in many ways for me: my first source engine map, my first meshes and my first textures/materials. I've made a ton of mistakes, but I learnt from every single one of them (I'd like to think). It honestly wouldn't have been possible without this great community, so thanks everyone for commenting, liking and PM:ing. Every last bit of motivational boost counts.

    Until next time.

    Looks absolutely stunning!

This view honestly has to be one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a Counter-Strike level, so much depth.

The content cannot be displayed because it is no longer available.

    Looking neat so far!

However, it needs way more dirt and wear overall. It's too clean to be believable.

Wow, congrats, this map has been looking great for a while.

Looking forward to see it in the next op ;)

This has been the most troubling design choice for me. I've been inspired by Hohenzollern (google image: hohenzollern courtyard), and that castle is spotless in parts, likely due to its young age as well as good maintenance. More grime and dirt is something that I'll be considering though.

Nice shot, I never thought to screenshot this angle :D

Map already downvoted by bots on the workshop, RIP.

Hey, don't worry about that. Workshop ratings aren't really important. Try to get views, subscribers, etc.

Yeah your retweet certainly helped :D but now It's buried, so I probably won't get anymore views and subs. :(

    @grapen

Very nice work on the map.

I noticed that your map was on the #2 spot on the workshop

    Screenshot:

However, it seemed that it suddenly got spammed with Down Votes or something - possibly because of these aim maps?

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/oODhKYu.png]

Last I checked, your map had fallen down to PAGE 3 - when it had been in 2nd place on the workshop...

I don't mean to start a witch hunt, I'm just bringing this up because the same thing happened to me with my map, it was up at second place and suddenly got a bunch of downvotes and disappeared from the the first 2 pages.... although it has recovered some since then.

This guy has 4 maps all of which were posted in the last week or so starting June 30th - every single one - except the most recent one, is filled with Ads for Crate Gambling Sites....

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/q9DeJS5.png]

Don't mean to start a which hunt but I just wanted to bring this to your attention, and share with others because I hope that Valve will do something about it. I've seen that same thing happen to other maps posted this week, it's a joke - it shouldn't be that easy for people to control the workshop....

Lol yep - That's such a huge pain - Valve need to do somehting about that

Yeah it's most likely that guy with the scam ads. Always wondered what it felt like to have a front page workshop submission for a week. Dream over before it started. :)

Honestly the issue needs much more exposure - part of the problem is that it takes Sooooo few votes to destroy a map...

Your map has about 40 votes on it, I bet all it would take is 10 or 15 downvotes to take you off the front page of the workshop...

    My map had 62 ratings:

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/LIllT6l.png]

All it took was 16 downvotes to take my map from 2nd place - all the way completely off the front page 2 pages. (for 1 week most popular)

Basically anyone could go to their friends list - message 15 people and ask them to downvote someones map. (assuming it is a very new map, with few votes)

And they don't even need to Own CS:GO to vote on the map.... it's awful

A bit of a derail of this thread, but it's not even clear that the Workshop needs a downvote feature. Who gathers the most up votes would be sufficient.

I suppose the bots would win either way :D but banning users who link to phishing sites should definitely be a thing.

Yea, my apologies - and I totally agree, there doesn't even need to be a downvote button.

The real issue is that de_scepter is a very impressive map, and definitely deserves the exposure it would get being on the front page. Hopefully it can make it's way back to the top if it gets enough positive ratings.

I understand you're skeptical and afraid it would be a failure because you released a big project and it's scary.

But dude ... It's a great map. It looks really great, neat. The level design is refreshing, i haven't played on it but player's navigation is just perfect and fits the theme really well. I like what you did with some indoors that isn't shown in the screenshots, "simple" but efficient.

It seems hard to believe it's your first Source map with your first props and textures, in any case it's really clean.Neat !

@grapen Wow. Just did a run through w/ bots. Amazing map. Great detail. Easy to learn layout and awesomely simple bomb sites. Pat yourself on the back.
