@DMU222 have you checked if is linked in the description of YongYea’s video? I think he links sources but haven’t looked.

btw maybe final bit of drama, as the publisher has released a (Twitter!) statement assuming full responsibility for the decision and somewhat “protecting” the dev that wrote that post. I appreciate the gesture but surely trolls will be trolls. I hope for the devs the backlash stops.

there is though an argument on distribution, being Epic’s platform less feature rich, but I am not down with the incredible reaction it caused… maybe I’m alone on this because I don’t play games on release 99% of the time. But I think exclusives have been a thing for a long time, also on PC… people think of EA but Valve’s games are exclusive to Steam, they were the first to introduce this in the PC world!, at least this is just a timed exclusive. Backlash should eventually be addressed to Epic to push them include the missing feat, is absolutely ridiculous they don’t offer stuff like a wish list or sorting, I get there are only a few games on the platform but goddamn future-proof yourself man, you look like you are not serious about this, and we are taking in the specific of one extra DB table and ONE SQL query. Personally I’m still keen to try Epic store just for the modern UI, Steam looks like those 90s websites basically… gosh they’ll have to bump priority on that, I’ve had that pet-project in my drawer for too long.

telling everyone that the devs get a better cut on a different platform and then not passing on ANY of these savings to the consume that would need to adopt this platform sticks in my craw.

Was watching a few reviews on youtube, this legit looks like a shooter out of the 2000's, with amazing graphics. I'll be taking a month off, will visit Portugal and aside from my Switch I wont be playing video games, but once I'm back deffo be giving this a shot.

The pacing in the beginning is so bad. It was truly a test of patience to get through it and the first open zone. Don't get me started on the boat. The parts that followed and the second open zone were much better. That's where I stopped for the moment.

Doesn’t sound like a game like this needed an exclusivity deal to be profitable. It ticks all the boxes hardcore FPS players want (imo).

Not for me it didn't. The slow movement didn't translate well to the open environments. There is also too much clutter in some areas, making it annoying to navigate. God damn, those boat segments were annoying.

Guess I can’t comment until I try it, but looks like to be more exploration oriented than action FPS. I can see why it can be annoying in bigger spaces, when we are now accustomed to explore with all means to make travelling quick (parachutes and wingsuits)

Unfortunately I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes of this on console. Even with the sensitivity on max the aiming was sluggish, which I guess is supposed to be "realistic" but then why does your character start spinning faster the longer you move the sticks? It makes things very disorientating and combat a bit of a chore. Also it froze and completely locked up my PS4 during an early cutscene. I restarted and sat through a loading screen for a few minutes and it put me at a point where an enemy was on top of me attacking me in a quick-time event, in which I died and then had to sit through another loading screen to come back. Not a good first impression so I took it back into work and moved onto Rage 2 (not tried it yet). Which is a shame as I thought this looked decent enough.

Ahaha, oh man, you're in for a treat! Both of these games failed miserably in my opinion at adapting to an open world design.

So... a few years late to the party, but I finally got around to play the first two Metro games, before playing Exodus.

I don't know why I didn't play them back then, it's right up my alley in almost every single way. I think it could be the oppressing rundown metro tunnels theme, I remember thinking a game can't stay fresh throughout on this one claustrophobic theme, and never ended up picking it up. Now, with the Xbox Game Pass, both Metro 2033 and Last light Redux versions are there, I thought why not take them for a spin and I'm completely hooked. Finished 2033 in a few days, and I'm now nearly done with Last Light.

2033 is a serious macho survival shooter, I loved every second of it, even the clunky mechanics add to the charm of this game. For Last Light they really upped the ante in so many ways, the art is way less busy, the lighting actually looks good and volumetric and for such an old game it still managed to impress me. The gameplay is a lot more action oriented than 2033, they lost most of that survival element in exchange for more combat, and there's waaay more ammo, health packs and filters than the original (Played both on hardcore difficulty, with a xbox controller, that's right motherfuckers) but I have to admit it's a more smoother experience for sure.

I'm savoring my time with Last Light now, dope ass game complete with a lap dance section. I can't wait to try Exodus. So, if you're reading this and you never played 2033/Last Light, deffo give the Redux versions a try, it might still surprise you as it did surprise me.

Looking forward to hearing about Exodus. I wasn't that into it when I tried it, but I've been considering giving it another go sometime.
