making 1.6 maps for the mod classic offensive ? Could be a possibility or I think doing tf2 would be a really good idea
I wish people were more interested in killing floor 2 map making.

I wouldn't mind any unusual game, but in that case we have to arrange with the developer keys giveaway or at least a huge discount (75-90) for participants.
Eg I'd be interested trying my hands on Rocket League arenas. (Don't own cos have rubbish unreliable internet and can't play online)
What would be really awesome is if Mapcore came together to produce a game/mod (something smallish, like a recreation of Quake 1 Deathmatch in UE) and then ran a competition to produce maps for it.
Another idea for a CS contest would be to focus on Demolition maps. Sadly, it doesn't seem like Valve is willing to improve that mode via operations or new vanilla maps anytime soon.
I never really understood the appeal of Demolition mode. It seems like an awkward half-way house between Defusal and Arms Race but it doesn't feature either of the strongest elements of those modes. I imagine that's why Valve have pretty much side-lined it.
why cant there be more than one contest in one year?
how about 2 or 3 contests. first contest CS:GO, second contest unreal, third contest source2 VR? do you want to start only 1 contest in a year because you think you need to pay a lot of money to the winners?
i would do 3 contests and i would plan the source 2 VR contest as the last one because this stuff could be changing quickly at the moment. if you want to give every contest about 3 months time (while you want some time without a contest in between), its no big deal if the third contest would start in 2017 / end in early 2018.
Still need to finish my UT level from last time
But oh well.... UT it is! As for other games/ideas, those sound good as well. Let's do this.

My vote goes to counter-strike :p
My vote goes to 1024x1024 ... let's do some out of the box thinking for this one (pun intended)!
1024x1024 hostage rescue for cs:go - someone can make the stairway from The Matrix

Portal that takes you back to the top once you reach the bottom?
@FMPONE No, but that would be a cool idea too. Imagine multiple floors within the size limit that can be accessed via teleporters. Quake style level design. Could get some Black Mesa/Aperture themes going on.
I'd love to see a contest for The Dark Mod. Would be amazing to see what people would come up with for that. It's singleplayer, which is an interesting level design opportunity and it's free which opens it up to everyone to develop for.
My vote went to UT4 though, was great to be a part of the last content for that! Definitely want to get into designing maps for that, and contests are always a good incentive.
There's incentive enough for people to develop for CS:GO regardless of a contest as well, what with the possibility of being included in Operations. If there was going to be a contest for CS:GO however, I'd love to see it be based around Arms Race levels, which could be a fun opportunity for people to develop a different sort of level. Perhaps contact Valve about adding some contest winning maps to the Arms Race rotation? It's a gamemode that really benefits from a large quantity of maps, but the current default rotation is lacking.

WAT?! I didn't know The Dark Mod had public level design tools! There goes my weekend ...
Waw csgo again...
Hope for a demolition contest, would be fresh to see smaller map wih less gameplay constraints.
man if it was for Black Mesa I'd participate so hard.
I voted for 1024x1024, my reason for this is that it's always interesting to see what people can cram into that area. It's also fairly small so it allows people without tons of available time to take part in it. I also find it interesting in terms of design, due to the possibility of variations in height.
