    - Arizona (and perhaps the other one I'm remaking...but Arizona is THE ONE I would like to finish)

    - Moaar photos (means more excursions in nature <3)

    - As my daughters are growing up, take all the family more often outside of the city to visit the countryside and spend time together

    - Find the time to start and finish all of these unplayed /paused Steam games in my catalog (and that's why I didn't bought something during the current sales even if I was tempted ^^)

    Yeah, let's start this year!

Tease the thing I'm working at, work on the thing, announce the thing, and hopefully finish the vertical slice by the end of the year.

    • Get my shitty life situation that's been going on for 16 years sorted out, hopefully.
    • Build a future by continuing the long grind (game art related), otherwise I won't have one.
    • ???
    • Continue the bodybuilding, no slacking off.
    • Replace the laptop that I have been on for the past 10 years with a proper beast.

Now, I'll go back to this post and hopefully all of these will be checked off before 2018. :)

Continue where 2016 ends. I want to keep on working on private projects after work in order to improve my skillset. Maybe joining a mod team or smth

Well 2016 has been pretty good already :

    • I finished a great internship, designing an innovative drone with a quite complex mechanical system. That was fun and i learned a lot, i hope it wouldn't be confidential so i could show it to you :/
    • I've been hired right after the internship and quickly gained responsibility, became the project manager of one of our project and lead the project to promising results
    • Gained a lot of expenrience while managing people, following their work and guiding them through their studies
    • I met an awesome brazilian girl, we're together for 6 months now, we even moved together quite recently :)
    • I changed from a small 1 bedroom apartement to a decent one (with seperate bedroom, kitchen, living room, 2 toilets ... :D )
    • Upgraded my PC with a GTX 1070
    • Finally managed to put some time in map making in the end of the year
    • Lost 10 Kg
    • And i survived from many bike falls ! \o/ (one being a traumatic brain injury without a loss of consciousness, scary :s )

The only big issue is that cs_opera didn't have much progress this year.

For 2017, my goal would be to keep going like this, trying to be happy as much as i can finally be and...

    • Finish my current short project (this)
    • Work as much as possible on cs_opera, seriously
    • Quit my engineer job for a while and try to work in the game industry (more like in the end of 2017)
    • Learn some portuguese and visit brazil

2016 was, well good in the way it looks but I didn't felt that good: - While we are very proud of our game, Ultraflow 2 was a huge commercial fail even if we received great critics - I finally finished school at 23 - My final year project was an intense development but we faced awesome challenges and I learnt a lot about UE4 and open world creation (for both design and technical matters). Plus, the prototype has grown an incredible anthousiasm from Youtubers making it visible to millions of players. - I got contact by people from the industry for opportunites which, enven if they did not get to an end, made me more confident about finding a job. - I got my first real contract in the game industry - I shipped a big game - Unfortunately, the game we shipped doesn't encounter the success it deserves neither :/ - I haven't feel very proficient since August and I haven't start anything serious as personal project. So for 2017: - I want to start a serious personnal project with a small scope... - 'Cause I want to finish it. I have game ideas, map concepts for UT I have to achieve. - I want to learn how to code in C++ and C#. Even if I know I won't be the best, I want to be able to read more code than I can now, in both of these languages to strengthen my profile. - Get a new position for which i'll feel useful. Getting experience on a pro PC/console game would be a huge plus for my profile. - Make more money. (May be with short freelance work I could do on my spare time) - I want to travel. I need to see new things, learn more, feel something new. - I also would like to start a Youtube channel dedicated to very high quality video about level design or game design theory. Like lessons you'd give to a classroom.

Lots of very inspiring stuff, thanks for the read.

    For me personally:

    - manage my time and keep my mood up

    - finish at least one map that has been lying around for too long (incl. textures/models)

    - start coding in C# again (perhaps a small game project)

    - dedicate less time watching streams and more into my university study

    - travel, and hike through more forests/mountains

    - take pictures with my camera

    - Stop watching porn.

    - Stop drinking alcool. (Not alcoholic at all, just want to try to drink softs when I could drink alcool)

    - Launch my company, hopefully it's for April 1st.

    - Read at least one book per week.

    - Be more flexible while dealing with people.

Must be very thin books then. Probably with subjects like 'What men know about women'.

Ahah yeah, depends of the size of the book obviously, 200-300 pages is manageable I think, it's a goal, not an end by itself.

Well, its now the 182nd day of the year, which means... exactly half our time is up

And from my list I can cross off:

    - Build a good portfolio

    - Finish GCSE's

    - Start making a small game (after cs:go maps done :P)

So how well is everyone else holding up? :D
