    OLD POST:

    Hey guys!

As a lot of you already know, I'm working on bringing CS_AGENCY into the world of bomb defusal (and I have for quite some time...). The only problem is that I've basically made a new map instead so I'm gonna rename this at a later stage. The theme is a corporate campus (think Googleplex / facebook HQ). I'll try to get art assistance to help me prettify it soon.

The map will be playtested tonight (September 8th) on the public playtesting server (10vs10)!

Everything is mockup only right now, but I thought I'd share some screens anyway and use this thread to share progress, vent about shit and get your juicy feedback.

haha you could add those pool tables, snacks machines and slider, from one floor to another (not usable by players), you know, to look a COOL and young office

Best of luck with the map. Just make it different by name as you already had plans for so people can identify it being separate from the cs version.

    STATUS ALERT

We had a 5on5 competitive test earlier tonight and it went well I'd say. There'll always be minor things that need tweaking but the overall structure is "there" now. Friggin' finally I say. I had a look back at some of the older versions and man, oh man, is some stuff embarrassing. To begin with, we've playtested 25 versions. 25. Jesus christ. And some of my earlier design choices make me cringe now. I think a big part of the problem was that I was trying to balance new stuff with the agency legacy, wanting to stay true to the original map etc. When I abandoned that and just said fuck it, it's a new map, things went a lot smoother.

In the name of science, here's a side-by-side overview shot of the first playable version (December 2014) and the current version (September 2016).

@Puddy will there be a public download link available soon? I think a bunch of people who haven't playtested it would be interested in enjoying the map even in its unfinished stages.

Oh no, I can shelve my project since I wanted to do exactly that kind of theme :(

Time for a little update in order to maintain some momentum! :D I am currently gathering refs and planning for the art!

I also decided to rebuild the entire level (with same dimensions etc) with new brushwork. I do this for two reasons: firstly, since the map has changed so much, a lot of brushwork is very messy and hard to work with. Secondly, it's to create more of a blank canvas for the art and make it easier to make changes without having to move a lot of temp detailing and bits and bobs.
