Think I might need to borrow someone's Wii U and play it on that

I saw an advert for 1-2-Switch last night and the mini games didn't look great. Stuff like shaking the controller to fizz up a bottle of pop, shaving your face and shit like that. Looked really boring and wouldn't hold anyones attention for more than a couple of minutes. They need stuff like Wii Sports or Wario Ware if they want to make a party game to get everyone around a Switch.

I'd love Zelda too. But I think I'll just wait until the Switch is cheaper or take the graphical hit and get it on my Wii-U.

I've heard that actually the game is very similar on Wii U, if not a little bit nicer visually (?)

Just basing by what I saw in this video which came out yesterday. AA and lighting seems a little worse on the Wii-U but still a great looking game really:

In regards to the Wii U version @PaulH and @Beck, the game is basically the same but the frame rate suffers on the Wii U version. Not that it becomes unplayable, but it's noticeable.

Surely in one year time you'll find good deals on the used market.

Kinda in the same position in terms of interest. I mean I actually like the console and the portability, commuting often it could really be a nice companion. Problem is there will be just a handful of games I'll be interested (never been into Nintendo's stuff).

i need to see more, but I'd be more likely to get a PS4 Slim (saw console with one game bundled for less than £200).

I've been looking at the Zelda reviews and they reeeally make me want to order a Switch. Then I Googled on what games were coming and.. Yeah, there's literally NOTHING that interests me. And I play a lot of genres.

This is like Donkey Kong Country at it's time of hte release. Many magazines gave it a total 100/100 and later found out that they had just maxed out their score scale and future games were harder to rate. Luckily these days score is not an absolute truth and it's 5/5 or stars or whatnot and not so high numbers anymore. Gives more leeway.

Yeah, that's why we don't give scores, but badges (in very rare cases).

Got mine this Saturday but I'm loving horizon so much I'll wait till i finish it to start zelda. I took it for a spin tho, and yeap, feels like a Nintendo console in all regards.

Doesn't have that crappy plastic feeling the WiiU does, and screen looks dope. The joycons are a great adition if only they feel rather small, i think it's worth getting that pro controller and save the joycons for coop and for when you take the console with you on vacation or something, being able to play coop with someone else on a plane or something is a plus I'll definitely apreciate when the needs comes for it.

Right now though, there's not a whole lot of games, i got bomberman since it looked like a good coop game, and it's not that bad, deffo overpriced.

Where the hell is Switches version of WiiU party or Wii Sports? I hope they start expanding their game's library soon. They sure have a good base to build on, very solid console.

Been playing Zelda pretty much nonstop this entire weekend, absolutely in love with it. The size of the world is just crazy, but what's even more crazy is how much depth and details there are to be found in the world. It's still also surreal to be playing an open world game like this on a handheld (I probably spent 80% of the 15 hours I've played it so far in handheld mode).

Also really digging the Switch so far, my only complaint is how the wrist strap parts are pretty hard to get off the JoyCons, they need a lot of force to slide off to the point where you're genuinely afraid that you've about to tear it apart. 1-2 Switch is pretty terrible, but Snipperclips is superb, played it a bit with my girlfriend and it was pretty much an instant hit, unlike 1-2 Switch.

Anyway, so far, really happy with the Switch (and Zelda in handheld mode), probably the least amount of buyers remorse I've had with a console to date (put that on the back of the box )

ahah, yeah those black grips are a pain in the ass to remove. I remember seeing tons of videos exactly like those when the PS4 came out, turns out that making hardware isn't easy gents! :D

Buying something like this at launch is pretty risky in my opinion. It's very different and more than likely gonna have a lot of problems.

Switch? More like "Switch back to WiiU!" No, but seriously - this is just really sad. I'll stick with my Nintendo "Switch" rev 0.1 (a/k/a WiiU) for the time being until the manufacturing process is improved for this (I want to love this console, I really do). :(

crowbcat videos aren't evidence of anything but them being a baby about video games. given enough of other people's videos and the magic tool of cinema called the "jump cut", you can prove anything, like how mafia 3 is a terrible broken game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZokdmzvDGA, how the Xbox Elite Controllers were all broken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gzj0f9SrBs, how the PS4 Pro was broken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6__TvBzAVj8, how the Xbox One was broken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu7jHLsW-5s, or how the PS4 was totally broken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FwlK-jU8Yg crazy that all those were complete failures

Yea, I'm sure the vast majority of consoles are fine. I went through 3 or 4 Xbox 360's over it's lifetime due to the red ring of death and that didn't kill the console at all for me or anyone else.
